awesome, great price

Realy good price and exellent piece of kit. I initialy bought this from Amazon few months ago and paid over £20 for it, so at £9.99 it's bargain. Heat added.

I have three of the metal titanium version of these which are the same innards (but metal casing) - and I cannot fault them.

There is a far faster transfer to them than to memory cards - and they are great with no caps to lose when used as media for my car radio (holding more than 5 CDs worth).

The only downside I have found is the blue LED that glows when they are being used can be a pain with reflections in the car at night when outside the city.
#4
cover up the led with tape!

price match at pcworld and use the 10% difference to get it even cheaper.

Are you sure? I've got one of these and it's definately plastic.

Brilliant piece of kit, just get rid of the rubbish U3 software when you get it.

i have 1.5gb of internal ram on my desktop pc. will plugging one of these in to use with the readyboost function yield any noticeable difference in performance?

(i typically use the pc for web browsing (with a dozen or so browsers open)

No.

From the wikipedia reference, readyboost only provides improvements on systems with 512Mb RAM.

Google is your friend.

Anyone know how this ranks up to my Lexar JumpDrive Lightning Speedwise?

Not sure if anyone realize, a couple of 4gb pen drives at Amazon are less than £10!

>> Link removed as marketplace seller deals are not allowed in the forums.

Kingston Technology 4GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive - £5.25

Yes, but this is a really high quality brand!! I had one for a few months, couldn't live without it, and happened to misplace it last week. This post has come in handy!

out of stock :( wish I'd seen this earlier

Local pc world only stocks 1Gb & 2Gb, i went in armed with my printouts and couldn't find any.
When i asked they offered me some inferior brand (probably there own). Asking why do you want Sandisk?
I showed said print out and did my best Little Britain Impression......
I Want That One
So if your going to pc world check they have 4 Gb ones before you have a wasted journey, might only be larger Branches. Anyway got the 2 Gb for £8.19 was £12.99 but would have got the 4Gb if i could

The first post at the following link compares an old 4GB Cruzer Micro and a new
4GB Cruzer Micro (Readyboost compatible).

http://episteme.arstechnica.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/24609792/m/322001070931

Read speeds: 14.5 MB/s (old) 30.7 MB/s (RB) that's a lot better than 7.0 MB/s.
Also note that other Readyboost compatible Cruzer Micros produce similar results.

I'm not claiming that it's a super fast USB drive but it seems to be better than many
other cheap drives.

If anyone buys one of these drives some detailed benchmarks (reads and writes,
small and large files) would be helpful. :)
#39
It's Vista readyboost compatible - I have one plugged in now as an extra 4GB RAM and a second as my day-to-day file holding doodad

great deal...now looking for something to go with it. Hot
