great deal. epic game. needs a monster PC to run though so good luck with that.

however just a quick note, really soon theres a double pack, both crysis and crysis wars released as a double package pretty soon so worth checking the price on that.

maybe buying both separate might work out cheaper too....
#2
Great Game though and a great price
#3
one of the best pc games to date absolutely brilliant
its supposed to be slightly better than crysis warhead too
#4
Great price, still worth buying if you don't have a monster PC IMO.
#5
super price!
#6
cracking price even though my pc couldn't handle it. Might pick up a copy ready for when I've built my monster
#7
Fantastic price

And just to rub it in...

Its never been released on the 360 or PS3 as they are unable to run it!
#8
Great price,brilliant game.
If you change the settings in the game you can run it on a mediocre machine, but on a monster the graphics are the best i have seen.
Buy it and then get a new machine.

one of the last great moments of pc gaming is in this game. fire a load of rockets into the sky, turn invisible, train your sights on a tank or a shack or a crowd of people. giggle likee a child as firey death rains down from the sky and obliteratesc everything. it'smagic.

good game, overall. a worthy swansong for the platform.

Any idea if there's a guide anywhere that tells you whether your PC will run it or not?

Or if anyone here knows whether it's worth me buying with this PC -
I have an Intel C2D E8400 (2 x 3.0Ghz), and an Ati HD3850 512MB GPU (factory OC'ed some).
4GB RAM
Win XP.
Cheers.

if you check the official site it tells you the minimum and recommended specs. That would probably just meet the minimum but a slightly better gfx card would help
#13
im now downloading the demo to test my specs, will update to see how it runs on my specs then if any good will buy full game
#14
If you go to the offical EA site there is a thing you can run that will tell you if it will work ok
#15
Still to finish this game - got bored tbh, but i should dust it off and give it another go

Looks very pretty in DX10, but definately over hyped though

Only really any use if you happen to be sitting at home, and not at work, as the site just scans your PC and tells you whether you can run it or not.
Oh well, opted to buy it anyway, could always use it as an excuse to upgrade my PC :-D .

Just meet the minimum? That's a pretty quick C2D, and the graphics card is ok. Plus 4gb of RAM. What would be recommended? A Quad with 8Gb RAM?

I think that spec should be fine. As per Crysis Recommended:

CPU: Dual-core CPU (Athlon X2/Pentium D)
Graphics: Nvidia 7800GTX/ATI X1800XT (SM 3.0) or DX10 equivalent
RAM: 1.5GB
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream)
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX10 with Windows Vista

that will work fine mate.

I ran it on a 9800xt with everything on low @ 1024x768 so a 3850 will thrash that to pieces.

Heat added, great deal.

Was gonna wait until it dropped to a sensible price.

got a 4850 so i have played the demo on some high settings fine, it's the AA that kills the gfx card....
#20
yeh i have a athlon phenom quad core and a overclocked geforce 9600gt,4gb ram so will see how i go,everything else runs realy well but i know crysis is super demanding!!
#21
should be fine, i've played it on an 8600gt and it was reasonable. still looks pretty on medium settings too.
#22
Great game, great price.

Just re-playing it now.
Played it originally at on medium/low settings with a x2-3800 and 1950xt. It looked good.

Playing it now on ultra-high settings (though only 1280x1024) with a core2-8400 and 4850. Runs smoothly and looks fantastic. Only problem is a gameplay one: it's too easy to abuse the invisibility ability.

Try SystemRequirementsLab site, it scans your PC and lets you know how you compare against the specs for loads of games.

i've got it partnered up with a 4870 1GB.

+1

the first time i booted it up, i was expecting never before seen God like visuals - but was disappointed...
#25
Damn it yesterday i paid £8 + P+P on ebay and then noticed it was used!
#26
Think it's finally I give this game a go then!
#27
Been watching the price of this and finally it's come down....ordered!.....we'll see if the hype is correct. hoping it's a Far Cry 2 type thing.

great game, fantastic price, completed this a while back.
#29
Been looking for this for a good price for a while. Good Find. Quidco too.
#30
Great Game, great price, you will need a good graphics card.
8800GT or above recommended.
Please dont post how a 8600gt or lower will work, I know it will, but its not what I call decent graphics.
Runs well on my 768MB 8800GTX.
#31
Hmmm just read about OnLive. Very nice .... I can see me using a service like this on my PC, soI may hold off on Crysis as I suspect it might well be included.

Is this the same price instore?
#36
My tuppence worth.

Great game, enjoyed very much.

Runs fine on an Core 2 Duo E8200 (at 3.2ghz) with BFG 9600 GT OC all settings high NO AA. And thats on a 22" monitor.

As for the gameplay, it is good, but no better than similar FPS titles. It is way better gameplay than the likes of FarCry2 - which made me cry with boredom!

As for in-game graphics, it is sweet! It's the subtle things that make it great eye candy - shadows and light flicking through the trees, where each leaf moves with the wind!

You can pick up a Nvidia 9600gt or ATI 4830 for around £60 - £100 now.
For an extra £30 you can get a Nvidia 9800GTX or ATI 4850
An then for another £50 you could get a Nvidia GTX260 or ATI 4870
#37
Price has gone up to £9.91 now.
#38
Ordered last night. I have a Xps 420 with a 9800gt (sorry don't no much about PCs). Can you run it says my PC meets the recommended requirements for this looking forwar to playing it.
#39
Mine has been despatched well that's what it says on asda.com but no despatch e-mail.
#40
Demo runs smoothly on my main PC at high settings.
Also stuck it on my older PC for a laugh (Athlon X2 4000+, ATI X1300 Pro 256MB, 2GB RAM). On low, settings at 1440x900, it's actually had no problems at all. Will stick the settings up a bit tonight and see the results.
Basically I think all the "you need a super-computer to run this game" comments are a load of rubbish, especially if my 3 yr old Dell can run it.
