You can also use it to claim back race fees for 10Ks, Half Marathons, Cycle Sportives, etc. It's a great organisation that can save you a lot of money in the long run.

Does anyone know if I would be eligible as a school governor. If not would anyone mind adding me. Many thanks.

Yes good this. Been a member for a fee years. Mainly use it for cheap cinema tickets, theatre rebates and entry fee rebates for races...

yes you will be able to join if you are connected in any way to a school. to be honest they are not too fussy .

I used to work for an eligible employer but I never got the chance to join as they cancelled the sign up visitor twice. I then left to pastures new but I still chanced it, signed up and it worked. There's no checking done. However you can be signed up by referrals.

Hmm... I wonder if a pre-school/playgroup counts?

Hmm, the winner for my wife (a teacher) would be entirely free gym membership but I just rang and it appears it's just a fairly standard discount off rack rate at gyms. Have I got the wrong end of the stick?

Same here just looked and it appears to be 10% off a gym membership not free? Hope I'm wrong as I'd be joining for sure if it was a free gym membership

it depends on the gym, there is a free one in Manchester but don't know about elsewhere

I got 50% off alton towers tickets

To add to this they've just introduced the Limitless card for £140 for the year which is a bargain. You only have to go once a month to make it worthwhile having. Odeon are selling it for approx £200 for the year.

Have you got a link to this on the cssc website please?

The gym offers don't seem up to much and the specifics are behind a login page, which doesn't sound good.

you need to sign in, then go to shop and cinemas, both vue and odeon are £140

I think the title should probably be amended given that membership from 1 Jan 2017 is £3.95 per month.

Note to those being referred by others on this thread - your membership will be linked to theirs, so that if they stop being a member in the future, your membership will stop too.

Not necessarily a problem but something to be aware of:

> Q. If the Qualifying Member cancels their membership can the Linked Member remain in membership?
> A. No

Please can anyone check if the 'Better' chain of gyms in London are included as free gyms?

With my partner being a teacher this is certainly interesting. I had a quick look but for most of them do you have to fill out forms to claim refunds back or can you just use a card at some places for a discount?

Filling out forms is just a waste of time imo.

You need to send them your details of finishing times. I claimed for the Gateshead 10K and Great North Run which more than covered the costs of the membership for the year. You received up to 50% of the race fees back. There are details on the website for every type of event you can claim for.
