I'm looking for a decent budget to midrange notebook and missed the recent Xiaomi Air 12 £399 deal.

The Cube Thinker looks like a better specced alternative:

Windows 10 (Chinese with English conversion)

13.5 3000x2000 touchscreen

Surface pen support

Intel core m3-7Y30 processor

256GB SSD

8GB RAM

Currently £499.99 at Gearbest using code - Cubethinker

Still too expensive for my needs but I'm very tempted.

As this will be shipped from China I suspect you need to consider adding import duties on top of that price which could be another £100

If you opt for expedited delivery then most probably. If you're willing to wait then the risk drops.

I've not been hit with import duty yet but admittedly I've not spent this much on one item.

These deals will never get too hot for that reason alone but if you're in the niche market of being a patient, risk taking, bargain hunting, shoulder shrugging if it goes awry sort of person that wants a mid level notebook then this is, here, is the deal for you.

£500 spend with Gearbest..... good luck if you have a problem with that order or have to use the warranty. Braver than me OP

Ditto. And i speak from experience. Always found their delivery reliable (use the basic delivery for the best chance of avoiding duty) but if a fault develops after 28 days, then you enter a world of pain. The warranty is more or less meaningless. At best you'll have to return it by courier, tracked at your own expense which isn't cheap. I now only buy high value goods supplied from the UK. On the positive side, the Cube i35 appears to be a really good Surface Laptop alternative, so i fully understand why it might be so tempting.
