Hi all, my partner went into Nottingham Centre Post Office at the weekend for currency - we go to Paris tomorrow.

The rate is 1.02 euro to the pound

The cashier said they currently have a deal where you can get 1.30 euros to the pound if you spend £500! She didn't take up the offer as she only wanted to get £200. I have not change my money yet as I don't get paid until tomorrow... so am unable to give more details

I can't find any details online about this.

Would appreciate if anyone else can verify this.

Thanks

they would be lunatics to honour that deal.

be interesting though :santa:

No chance of that being true.

There would be queue of currency traders at every Post Office!

1.3? - are you sure? Do you mean 1.03?
#4
This would be fun if true. You could buy all they have n go to another bureau de change and make a handsome profit getting sterling back.

More chance of seeing one of these I think!!

sorry, dont believe this.

that gives people an opportunity to print money.

A buy back rate of 1.08 would give you approx £100 profit - LOL

Dont understand how they would make anything out of this, agents always give lower than the rate. I cant even remember when it was 1.30 to the pound last, must have been at least a year ago.
I certainly wouldn't vote this hot without conformation.

just phoned post office---its 1.0265 and not 1.30:santa:

We all should have got Euro few months back.

We would have made money.

first choice holidays can tweak to 1.035

Now it's about to hit 1.30 for real. Halfway up to where the £ used to be back in the early noughties. :p

I can recall it being at 1.62.

My guess is that it could hit 1.40 in the next 2 weeks.

It could also drop back to 1.25 or lower. In fluctuating currency markets, it's one big casino. Tempting to buy at 1.30 though.

Read up on what has happened to the Swiss Franc and what is about to happen to the Euro in the next week or two.
