Saw this about a week or so ago, for all I know it could taste like sick but for 9p it's worth a shot.

Sainsburies basic range curry.... doesn't say what kind of curry, or the intended country of origin..... just curry.

If it would taste like sick, why would you bother wasting money on it?

I bet the majority of it is water + a few flavourings.

I tried this a few weeks ago - it is suprisingly good. not as good as a bottle of branded sauce but at a tenth of the price it is a very good base for a curry. Add some chillies, onions meat etc, a bowl of rice and you have a very reasonably curry meal

This is good stuff to put on your chips. Most of the supermarkets have a similar sauce at around this price. If you like chip shop curry sauce you'll like this and for 9p why not give it a try.

Haaaa ha ha haa.... I was waiting for someone to say it was ok. It's processed **** is what it is. There are hundreds of different types of curry in the world but this is just labeled "curry sauce". If your happy to "add some bits" to it... why not just do the whole thing from scratch, it will be much nicer. Using a pot labeled "curry sauce" is never going to be a good starting point.

Anyway thanks for your post... it make me laugh on a Monday.

some will like and some will not like it , it all very subjective taste is and when they do blind tasting and people do not know what they getting it is the budget brands that they choice as liking. so its the mind playing tricks as well.

chepaer alternative is garam masala mixed with water - same difference

still got a tin of the asda equivalent in my cupboard after having one of them. Isnt even fit to top chips!

Bought a load of these a while ago for 6p a jar ! .Remember years ago our local chippy charged as much for his curry sauce as he did for a portion of chips. This tastes just the same. Great on chips after a night in the pub. Will be stocking up with more.

Agreed, exactly the same as chip shop curry sauce.
