Under EU law, you'll get 2 years anyways! Look up 2011/83/EC directive which came into play since the 13th of this month. And btw this has been true since the 99/44/EC.

Can you get the USA Netflix on this? If so, do you have to do anything with your IP to get it?

How true is this when most manufactures wont even honor it?

Gutted, I bought a box for £10 yesterday because there were no deals to be had. I would definitely have bought this package instead but they only reduced it today!

As FinderOfDeals pointed out, you already have a 2 year guarantee under European legislation, (plus, up to 6 years cover, under the UK Sale of Goods Act.)

Here is a bit more information on the European 2 year guarantee European 2 Year Guarantee Details

How long is it going to take before some people realise that this legislation already exists, and has done for years, and that you are already covered? The only reason that limited guarantees are quoted by manufacturers, is to try and brainwash the buyers into thinking that their limited guarantees are all that the consumers are entitled to, but you should also see, by law, usually stated alongside any guarantee conditions, that those guarantees cannot override any Government legislation, (or even EU legislation).

Why even bother talking about a warranty on a device that is effectively free! There is no way other than a gesture of goodwill you'd get this replaced even after 2 years.. And I'm sure the time to argue would far out weigh the cost of replacement

It is defeatist attitudes like this that manufacturers, and retailers, love.

Interesting link not sure about this part "after six months in most EU countries you also need to prove yourself that the defect already existed on receipt of the goods, for example, by showing that the defect is due to the poor quality of materials used."

No need to argue, just state calmly, and politely, that you are complaining about a breach of the Sale of Goods Act in a product that you have purchased from them, and tell them that it is up to them to deal with it, by law. If the faulty item is over 6 months old, one of the best ways to show an inherent fault is to do an Internet search for others that have had a similar problem, and print details out, including links, of the other cases. If many others are having the same problem, (and they usually are), it is obvious that the product is not fit for purpose, and therefore does not comply with the Sale of Goods Act.

If I am making a complaint, I put it all down on paper, explaining all of the above, and hand it to them to read. This saves getting in to too much discussion, and leaves no doubt about what your complaint is about, so they can't argue later that you didn't give them any details. I have never failed to get my rights yet.

Arrived this morning a good piece of kit plenty to play with watching film "White House Down" at the moment, used the login / password on my Talk Talk You view box the picture quality is far superior to the Now Tv box.
Being able to use 4 different devices to watch the films on is great.

Yeah, it was the 5 month movie one, but they went back up to £34.99 not long after the stock came back in.

Mine arrived yesterday morning and applied the code to my account with no problem.

I guess I might find a use for the box too!
