Windows 8 Cashback Terms and Conditions
Subject to these Terms and Conditions Customers will be eligible to receive a cashback of up to £250 when You purchase a Promotional Product from a DSG Retail Store and trade-in a Trade-In Product.
The Promoter, DSG RETAIL (trading as Currys PCWorld), is using third party service provider, Opia Limited, to operate this promotion.
“Customer”, “You” or “Your” means a customer of DSG Retail who purchases a Promotional Product and participates in the Promotion. Customers shall be construed accordingly.
“DSG Retail Stores” means any Currys or PCWorld store, www.currys.co.uk and www.pcworld.co.uk
“Promotion” means the offer of a cashback of up to £250 to be provided by Opia to Customers who purchase a Promotional Product during the Promotional Period and trades in Trade-In Product.
“Promotional Period” means 6th December 2012 to 24th December 2012.
“Promotional Product” means a Windows 8 laptop, ultrabook, convertible or desktop.
“Trade-In Product” means a Windows 7 Laptop or other laptop which complies with the Criteria set out in Clause 12.
“Website” means www.curryspcworldtradein.com
The Promotion is valid on purchases of qualifying Promotional Products made by a Customer You from a participating DSG RETAIL Store during the Promotional Period.
The Promotion is open to residents of The United Kingdom and the Isle of Man only. This Promotion is not open to employees of DSG RETAIL, their agents, relatives or staff or anyone connected with the Promotion.
Cashback claims must be submitted by the Customer only. Claims may not be submitted on behalf of Customers.
Claims must be registered online, and proof of purchase uploaded within 14 days from the date of purchase, the first day of purchase counts as day one. Trade-In Products must be received at the address stated, together with a copy of the claim form, within 30 days of the purchase date.
Once a claim has been submitted it will be checked and if successful You will be sent a pre-paid postage label and a copy of Your claim form within 2 working days via email.
If You have not received the pre-paid postage label within 2 working days of submitting Your claim please contact opia Customer service team via [email protected]
Affix the pre-paid postage label and enclose the claim form along with Your Trade-In Product and all accessories in line with paragraph 12 and take Your parcel to Your local post office to be sent to our recycling facility.
This Promotion is only open and applicable in relation to the purchase of Promotional Products.
The following proofs of purchase are accepted: store receipt or online invoice. The purchase price must be clearly indicated to be accepted. Customers failing to provide an acceptable proof of purchases will be notified via email and will have 10 days to respond before the claim is marked invalid.
Only one Trade-In Product per Promotional Product purchased can be accepted and a maximum of 5 Trade-In Products can be traded in by a Customer during the Promotional Period.
The value of Your cashback is dependent upon the value of the Promotional Product purchased as part of this Promotion. These values are as follows:
Buy a Qualifying product up to £399.99 and trade in a qualifying trade in laptop for £100 cashback
Buy a Qualifying product £400-£499.99 and trade in a qualifying trade in laptop for £150 cashback
Buy a Qualifying product £500-£749.99 and trade in a qualifying trade in laptop for £200 cashback
Buy a Qualifying product £750 or over and trade in a qualifying trade in laptop for £250 cashback
For Your Trade-In Product to qualify for a full cashback it must comply with the following Criteria (Criteria) namely:
working and complete with all accessories needed to make it fully operational (including power supply unit);
must be a Windows 7 laptop purchased on or after 22nd Oct 2009;
must have a 13” or greater screen size. Netbooks are not valid trade in products;
and must be able to hold its battery charge for a minimum of 20 minutes without being plugged into the mains.
If Your Trade-In Product is revalued You will be notified of the fair valuation by email. From the date the re-valuation is sent, You have 10 days to accept or decline the proposed cashback payment. If no reply is received the valuation will be automatically accepted and processed for payment. You may elect to decline the re-valuation and have the Trade-In Product returned for a fee of £15, payable by You in advance before its return.
Your Trade-In Product must have been originally purchased by You and must not be subject to any outstanding lease agreement or You must warrant that You have obtained permission from the rightful owner to trade in the product.
Deletion of all confidential data and information (which are in each case subject to applicable data protection legislation) stored on the Trade-In Product hard disk and/or other storage media is the responsibility of the Customer. The promoter accepts no responsibility for lost or confidential data and software. Upon receipt of the Trade-In Product all data will be destroyed. Please note we are unable to retrieve any Customer data once a Trade-In Product has been received. You acknowledge and agree that in the event that in breach of the requirement imposed upon You to delete all data from Your Trade-In Product and in the event that Your Trade-In Product is sent to another country the EEA for processing and/or evaluation You give Your consent to the transfer of such data accordingly. Under no circumstances will any data contained within Your Trade-In Product be transferred outside of the EEA.
Proof of posting will not be accepted as proof of receipt. DSG RETAIL cannot accept liability for any applications lost, damaged or destroyed in the post and recommend using the pre-paid postage label provided.
Please note we are unable to accept hand delivery of Trade-In Products.
Provided that the terms and conditions of this Promotion have been met, and Your Trade-In Product matches the description You have given, Your payment will be sent to via cheque to the address You supply during the claim process within 30 days of validation of Your claim, however please allow up to 5 days extra for possible postage delays.
All cheques will be made payable to the Customer only and this must be the purchaser of the Promotional Product purchased from a DSG Retail Store.
The instructions contained on the Website and the published process form part of the terms and conditions of the Promotion.
The Promoter may in its absolute discretion disqualify any claims which do not comply with these terms and conditions or where any form of bad faith is suspected.
The Promotion is not transferrable to another individual or business; claims will only be accepted from the Customer.
If a claim is refused, because the terms of the Promotion have not been met, the Promoter's decision is final.
DSG RETAIL is not responsible or liable for any technical, hardware, software, server, website, or other failures or damage of any kind to the extent that this prevents the Customer from or otherwise obstructs him/her in participating in the Promotion.
