Has an 'explorer' icon, does it have a web browser built in?

just bought one of these for my son today after seeing the offer. have not opened it but first impressions are pretty good it looks sturdy enough and actually feels pretty heavy and looks nowhere near as cheap as the big picture looks.
it says 4GB on the packaging but it also has a SD memory card expansion so this is probably what the browser is for to explore expanded memory.
ill open it soon and let you all know what its like but first impressions are pretty good given the price of the thing.

Gotta vote this cold, no info about at all. Can't vote hot as no idea of the quality, etc. How can it be a deal if noone knows anything about it.

The first link mentions ebook.... does it read PDF's?

I am at work and cannot download the PDF in the second link.

Got the last one in Chorley branch and they knocked another fiver off coz the box was slightly damaged and it was last one so not bothered. Already looks good and quickly got some stuff on it - sounds OK and sturdy enough so I suppose only time will teel but for now - def hot coz mine was under £25!!

PS there is no quidco anymore on Curry's shops etc only their other site entertainment or whatever they called it.

Who or what is noone?

This guy:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Noone

From another NSFW website

"A cursory inspection reveals that Peter is a friend to all. However, Peter's friendliness seems to have backfired, and thus during flame wars, idiots can often be found yelling at each other that "Noone likes you!" or "Noone asked for your opinion."

From "Noone wants to listen to you," to "Noone believes you for a minute," Peter somehow manages to become involved in every argument. "

Why Peter's friendship, trust, or willingness to listen is viewed as a negative is not known.

The manual contains this gem:

Would like to know what owners think of these as it's a cheap iPod/iTouch 'bait and switch' for chrimbo

got one in Durham today for D's Christmas pressie. Looks fine for the price.

thanks for post

up to 8 hours battery life
that means battery for video would only be able 1 and a half hours which is quite poor IMO
#22
How do you work that out?
#23
Truly awful.

Spose at the price they would be ok for kids to use/abuse

Actually I think that they're very good for anyone regardless of them being sold for less than £30.

Why have you posted such an "insightful" verdict?
#25
I was comparing this to the Popstation v PSP debacle. It's basically a 'Poptouch' lol
You only have to look at Flimber's screenshot to see it's a cheap iTouch rip-off with nothing under the front end. I have an iTouch interface on my XDA Orbit 2, but any cheap PDA could be used. A cheap second hand XDA with the iTouch interface would give you a hellova better product for maybe £15 or so more.
This is a false economy for anyone other than the kids crimbo prezzies.

ipod nano batterys are 24 hours on audio and 4 hours on video
and since on this it's 8 hours on audio, i did 4/3=1.3 and just rounded it to 1.5

On the other hand the Wharfedale FM6709 posted recently is quoted as having 8 hours playback and 2 hours on video

Got one for my eldest and glad now that I opened it to try it out.
Can't get the thing to start up - just get the welcome screen on a continuous loop and then it won't power down unless I use the reset hole.
Tried connecting it to the computer and then it just flashes!
Any tips or do I have a dud?
