More like custom built peice of rubbish with maximum return warranty of three months.
Good luck if you have problems after that. You might as well hedge your bets on the National lottery, the chances of a good result will be far greater.
Absolute joke this company.

Oh dear ! -would it even be worth building ?

Comparing it to pre-built pc's this is decent. Good all around.... I guess you have your own opinions on the company... but theres nothing wrong with the pc itself... Good value for power...

I've used scan over the years and have had no issues, I even killed a motherboard(asus Maximus formula s.e) due to a watercooling leak and the refunded me(didn't have any of that particular motherboard or equivalent that I wanted) .

It doesn't have much power, it's practically the cheapest desktop processor and gpu on the market. It might be a decent system for office work but you'd still need a monitor and peripherals.

If you tried to run any new games on this it would be jerky even on the lowest settings.

BTW I've dealt with Scan a few times and had no problems with them.

There is every need for that.
I had a genuine issue with an item I purchased and was treated like rubbish. They are irresponsible, arrogant and ignorant morons.

Is now a good time to suggest a peace? Pc is nice value low power pc, people beware of buying from scan, some others have had trouble with them, others a good experience.
#13
If you're going to build a PC that poor in power, you may as well should spend the extra 100 quid and get a mildly better in spec laptop. Because for the price, you'll get the OS installed already too lol.

The specs listed by the OP are that poor, you won't be able to do much gaming, and it's mostly just a media center type PC with internet capability.

But anyone who wants to go super low budget, should look at the Socket FM2 processors/mobos. You can build a budget system for less than the OP is suggesting with his Intel build.

For example you can get a AMD A4 5300 processor for £26.36 on Amazon, It's a dual core processor with a 7480D GPU attached to it, it's mildly better than the budget GPUs you can buy and you can do some light gaming. Paired with a cheap mobo you have a Processor, Graphics card, and Mobo covered for about 60 quid.

Lost me at "Celeron"
1 Like #15
Should be pointed out that this Celeron is surprisingly powerful for the money. Long term for gaming, no, because it's only dual core and not quad core, but Digital Foundry reviewed it and its overclocking potential, and it's really good.
#16
The Radeon 240 is not much of a gaming card but is probably all the 500W PSU Scan think will handle. I go to their store in Bolton all the time and they are a good company in my experience.

You are aware you're talking about a different processor to the one mentioned here, right? This isn't overclockable.

The Cpu is capable of running Games quite well, doesn't look like it, but it can... The Gpu, believe it or not,.. is also capable of running games reasonably well...

If played at 720p , you wouldnt have any problems at all... and for the price...I mean, i Dont see why this is cold.....

I am confused by this post.

Is this just a list of parts, or a deal on the Scan website?. "Go to Deal" link does not find it and I cant find it on the "Today only" section.

Why is there a 2.5" "laptop" hard disk listed that only runs at 5400rpm when most 3.5" hard disks in desktop PCs run at 7200rpm?

Also no CD/DVD drive listed.

Well I bought a PC from Scan a few weeks back and have had nothing but good and helpful service - so I guess that means they're great then, because by your logic your sole personal experience dictates the workings of the entire company, so I'll go ahead and assume mine must do the same.

It's just a list of parts you buy separately, no idea why gone for a laptop hard disk. Cd/DVD is hardly used in this day and age so not a big issue tho they're cheap.

From experience, often the people who complain the most are also guilty of these traits, I've always had great service from Scan (it's a long time since they were the fly by night company based in a shady area of Manchester) but maybe that's because I'm polite and don't accuse anyone of being an ignorant moron, without any further details, even one sided details, nor a time frame, I think comments like these have to be taken with a very large pinch of salt.

Spend £15 more on a pentium g3258 and get the asrock h81m mobo from my thread for £10. Then either leave the GPU out or get this if on a budget

Er... for a start, there is a 3 *YEAR* warranty on what I bought, not 3 months. I have already experienced their customer support and it was fine in my experience. No one experience dictates what their entire service is like.

its a very expensive site although slightly cheaper than pcspecialist which is a rip off!
