Was looking for a USB IR receiver for MCE and the cyberlink seems to have come up trumps!

solid remote this, paid alot more for it 2 yrs ago.... tis fairly unexciting and isnt IR compatible with mce receivers.... (as far as i could work out...)

Looks like Scan have done it cheaper for Today Only, but the postage will hurt if you buy it on its own.

The pic of the remote looks like the Universal Remote control, so it isn't compatible with Media Center. The description seems to disagree though.

I bought this cyberlink remote about a year and a half ago, didnt work with XP media centre (unless you selected media centre from the menu or a shortcut). It subsequently stopped working for no apparant reason, so I looked for an MS official one (but they were too much money).

I bought the following one from Play when it was £6.99 not so long back, does an excellent job with the media centre bundled with Vista. Unfortunately, it's gone up to £9.99 now, but it's cheaper than the MS one and I'd still have bought it for the price.

it stops, pauses, plays, skips tracks and movies in windows media player (well it did on my XP laptop) before it stopped working altogether.

I have one of these and it works fine with Media Centre (all functions). I have not tried it with Media player but I shall have a go tonight and let you know
