sotvsotv

Says a 1-2 month wait but this is £200+ anywhere else

The CycleOps Aluminium Rollers with Resistance feature durable steel-frame construction that meets the needs of the most demanding cyclists. An adjustable belt for right and left dismount that gives you added flexibility. And a bi-fold design that makes storage and transport a snap.

The same great features of the Aluminum Rollers, with the additional benefit of variable resistance. The unique patent-pending resistance unit uses zero moving parts to deliver 5 levels of quiet magnetic resistance. Precision-lathed 3.25" aluminum roller drums run silent and smooth, and won't distort in heat or sunlight. Fold flat or stand on end for convenient storage. Designed for both indoor and outdoor use.

Good price for those that prefer rollers to static turbo's.

Almost bought the Halfords Elite deal the other day, but deciced to give these a go instead.
(They seem to get good reviews at £200+, so I'm hoping for <£70 they'll be great.)

To be dispatched between August 22nd and Sept 15th apparently.

    Thanks!

Something tells me this won't work with knobbly mountain bike tyres? oO

EDIT: I take it back Youtube link

Looking around, the resistance unit alone is £67.50 at Wiggle, so may be a mistake on price, but worth a punt :-)

What I have for my mountain bike is a Minoura RDA 80, it acts on the rim of the wheel rather than the tyre. It really works well as long as you don't have disk specific rims.

Evans have a pretty good deal on it at the moment:

Very hot. Ordered. Hopefully not a misprice. Looking at the reviews and feedback from people who bought it the customer service looks fantastic and lifetime warranty.
It probably is a misprice. Over £200 elsewhere. Here's hoping.

Ordered 4 sets, planning to use them to dyno the car to test the BHP. Will it be compatible with tyres of 245 width?

    Thanks op.

Pointing out the obvious, why would you need one of these when there is miles of tarmac?

I'm also confused about the usefulness of such a device. Why sit on one of these when you can actually move somewhere? The bonus of which is a) you get varied scenery and b) you get somewhere you weren't when you started.

Winter, weather, rain sleet etc, wanting to exercise outside of daylight hours. For me living in London it takes a half hour drive to get somewhere where I can really ride without worrying about cars, stopping for traffic lights etc.

These sort of things allow me to have a quick half hour blast after work in front of the TV so I'm fit enough to enjoy my weekend rides.

The other benefit of these over static trainers is the fact that it improves your bike handling as you actually have to concentrate on keeping the bike upright.

I have a Tacx Sirius which is very good however when using a trainer you do tend to get very hot as you don't have the wind to cool you.

Also can be very boring, noisy and eats tyres. I have a spare wheel and use cheap tyres.

    Voting hot and ordered.

Anyone know what Amazon are like with misprices?

    Cheers
