Classic movie from my childhood. Do you remember?

Daryl (Barret Oliver) is the kind of boy any youngster would love to be like - and any mother would want as her son. He is a whiz at school. brilliant at computer games and sports - and even tidies his room! To his foster-parents, he is the perfect kid - perhaps too perfect...

What is Daryl's secret? Why can't he remember anything about his past... yet in the present, he goes beyond even genius levels of intelligence. The shocking truth is revealed the day his real parents turn up to claim him and his perfect, ordinary life is threatened by adults bent on his 'destruction

very popular, I have seen like 20 times

This is a good film, most memorable scenes are definitely the baseball and pole position scenes.

I think its worth this much if you are curious or like it, but its not up there with the Goonies or Flight of the Navigator for timeless kids movies IMHO.

The Goonies was great, but the 'teen' charactors were only minor. Try 'Teen Wolf.'

YH edited it from Teen to kids movies.

Teen Wolf I would personally not really classify as a teen movie, not sure why as its got teenagers in but, more than likely it is because Michael J Fox was one of those ageless people that could play a teen at 30.

For me it was well known but I've met many my age who have never heard of it. So it's not just you.
It was a great film when I was growing up (along with Explorers and the Flight of the Navigator) but with modern eyes it's a very very average movie (the same I think of the Navigator nowadays). Don't know if modern kids can appreciate these 80's family sci-fi

Reminds me of the time I was telling Paddy that my son was called George as he was born on St. Georges Day. My Scottish mate said that his son Andrew was born on St Andrews day. Paddy said he couldn't beleive the coincidence - that was how his son Pancake got his name.
:p

I remember this but that is just it, a memory and perhaps best left that way!!! Don't spoil your childhood!
#16
I remember being bored while watching this as a child...since he's a robot you'd expect him to have laser beams coming out of his eyes or rockets out of his butt or mad spider-man like jumping skills but all you get sop. :/
#17
I've often fantisied about his atm abilities!!! hehehe :D

Time Bandits beats the lot of these , even The Goonies .
#19
It is one of the all time great Kids films, one of my favourites, and it is quite surprisingly dark by todays standards (the government are assholes, scientists are killed, D*A*R*Y*L* even has to fake his own death to survive) and it's got Michael McKean in it.
