Bought this on Amazon for £15 a few days ago, good deal. If someone needs a Gig port for some reason, good deal here for an extra fiver: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/d-link-dhp-601av-b-powerline-av2-1000-hd-gigabit-starter-kit-2742626

I grabbed this one (the 1000Mbps version) a few weeks back when it was on offer £16.79 and they are perfect for BT TV! Even use one end within a serged protector extension lead :D

Would these work between upstairs and downstairs when they're both on different main switches on the fuse box?

I would imagine so. That's how we use them, most houses are wired that way and most consumer uses will be linking upstairs to downstairs. It's not a big expense if it doesn't but if I understand what you asked and how you are wired, I'm 99% sure it'll be ok

Yes, mine do.

Best thing I ever did was use a powerline to extend our wifi. Now have it all over the house and in the garden. Much better than a wireless extender.

Thanks, just in need of some of these.

Annoying high pitched sound from the units. Great customer service though and free returns so I have returned it.

Cold though.
