COLD

I dont recommend this. Just had to try and fix friends internet connection who has this router!

DOESNT work with VISTA properly.!

Which is why the Router has been DISCONTINUED. and D-Link dont provide any new drivers etc for the router.

Hope this helps sum ppl not buy if u have vista.

That's strange, I've been using one of these on vista and ubuntu for over 12 months now and hadn't noticed that it doesn't work.

I have one of these routers (can't remember the exact model number but I think it's the same) and it's a total POS. Absolutely horrendous.

I have a 5 port D-link switch and it is plug and play. No problems.

See amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0000687B6/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

Maybe the problems are being encountered due to not being installed correctly.
I've had a D-Link Wireless router for nearly 5 years and never had a problem with it yet. Fast download speeds, even on the Wireless connection.

Nope not in our case - my other half is an IT guy and installs plenty of routers. Maybe the model we had was rogue (I think it was the 624) but I don't think so as there are lots of reports of it not working - in the end it worked slightly better with the Australian firmware but still a long way from perfect. We're now using the Be router and it's much better.

I'm sure they make some routers that work but our experiences have not been good.

The DSL-G624T was a very good router for it's time, especially if you lived far away from the exchange, it was more stable.

Can't say anthing for the usb, as when i bought this type of package years ago I bought the PCI card, I still have it and works very well.

Sorry james2805 but your info is not correct.
A router will work with ANY operating system, just plug it in via the LAN "RJ45" and set it up first.
you need to make sure your LAN adapter is manually set to the IP range of the router.
192.168.x.x (Not SURE !!??) typing the routers IP into web browser will bring up it's admin page.

Then you can set up the wireless to your liking.

Remember when this router first came out you had to configure it by hand, no fancy SKY disk to help you out. It's been discontinued as it really old !!!!! I think I bought mine in 2004

Shame this wasn't a "hot" as this would make a very handy backup router if your's ever packed in.

Or just by wireless N and dont look back
