I bought a couple of these last time they were this price and eventually sold them on as they are rubbish. Terrible software, poor resolution & no IRcut meaning washed out images.

Can you not wait just 5 minutes before posting on here.. They'll be sold out before some of us get chance to get to a laptop

These cameras are really easy to setup and I must say for this price its a steal.
#7
Strange that one fellow said isn't is rubbish and difficult to set up and the other said it is very easy...
Or is that because one is lack of IT skill?
#8
I also brought 2 the last time they were this price. The quality of the video is not as good as I expected.

I had the complete opposite experience. You can use any other ipcam monitoring software or just use a normal browser for complete control of all functions.

Great camera for the price. Easy to set up and use.

bought 2 for this price. hopefully will be of decent picture quality

do these save images or video on a cloud service?

No it doesn't save the images/video on icloud but it can email you the photos directly to your email.

Here's the difference between a camera without an IR-cut filter (like the camera in the deal) and one with IR-cut. The images and video will be washed out like the first picture. But hey it's only £26.

Not a bad camera for the price, though not "widescreen" nor HD.

Easy to set up. No need to load any software. Just plug it into your router, turn it on and find the IP address assigned to it by your router. Then just type the address into your browser and away you go.

These are pretty easy to setup... follow instructions on dvd and as long as you know Wifi settings if you want to use it wireless it's straightforward and takes about 5 minutes.

Specs here says it has •Built-in Infrared-Cut Removable (ICR) Filter module.

The image colours look pretty vibrant to me.

It might not be too bad then. Only really let down by it's resolution.

Top picture to me just looks like the camera cannot render green. Part from that, quality is quite close to the bottom picture.
I guess bottom line is, if you plan on videoing aliens (Green people), the bottom camera is a must

Where does it record video to?
#23
I got one of these last time they were on offer and it's great although i found it tricky setting up due to reflections from the glass when pointing it out of a window. Because of that i got far too many images sent to me and havn't had a chance to look at it again, was going to look at installing zoneminder which is meant to be good and support it.

This looks good to me, as I am having trouble with someone hitting the back of my car. I wondered though, how easy is the set up, for someone with no technical skills? With it being wifi, do you just type in type in the details as a new device, like you would with a new laptop, to get it online. And plug it into a socket, and that's it?

I got 3 of these last time they were this price.

At this price they are a no-brainer. Where else are you going to get a camera that is

easy to set up,
has an app for remote viewing on your phone
sends automated emails with picture attachments on motion detection
can change camera settings anywhere in the world via the mydlink website
Has audio
Has night vision

for £25??
Can be used as baby monitors, home security cameras etc.. IMO high image quality is not essential as i'm not going to be printing images off this cam. To be honest i don't even look at the images most of the time.. i just leave the camera on and tune in as and when i need to.

Where does it record video to?

does not record video. It offers real time viewing of video and it sends still pictures to nominated email address.

So it's not really worth having as a security camera to look at the front of my house? If something happens.. it won't be recorded so whats the point? Apart from real time viewing of course

will send you email + pics as it's got motion detection. I wouldn't hold my breath on whether the camera will have time to take pic though

No idea. But it does say: "D-ViewCam has a robust set of features including centralised alert management and video/audio recording." in the description.

The camera will send you frames before and after the detected incident. Can't remember how many seconds you can go back so it obviously has a memory buffer.
