If anyone's looking for a cheap bike lock, found this in B and M Kilmarnock today, marked at £2.99,originally £5.99, going through till at £1. They had about six on a stand with other bike stuff past the tills.
Before I get slated about the quality of these locks, it's only £1, and it should be fine if you're just nipping into a shop.
My husband had a £40 D lock picked, so if someone wants your bike, locks are a minor barrier.
Cashier said it would be national, as the tills have been changed.

Regarding your husband's lock: locks are simply a delaying mechanism and deterrent. Of course they can be bypassed.

Not bad for the price though!

I always carried two locks. One on the bike and one in my rucksack, and that was in case I was just nipping into a shop too.

Yea decent price, should use this lock to lock your main lock... Get another to lock this lock too.
