My local Netto tends to put these things out the afternoon before - sometimes earlier. Worth checking on Weds afternoon....

I'll have to get down before college, seems a really good price!

Seems a good deal - note that there is an extended DAB standard coming out and you won't be able to get the NEW stations using this.

My netto puts things out as soon as they get the delivery, sometimes 3 days before the advertised time:x

But that's not going to happen for ages. Live for today, worry about getting another DAB radio in three or four years

I got a cheap DAB radio from Ebuyer for about £35 a year ago. The sound quality was so poor I sent it back and ended up putting the money towards a decent Sony one that cost over twice the price, and haven't regretted it at all.

If you're going to make all the effort of going for DAB radio with its crystal clear digital reception it's worth getting something that does it justice. I'd ceratinly want to listen to this model first.

Not always the case that price = quality. I remember a What HiFi group test of DAB radios about a year or so ago where they reviewed models from all price bands, including a Sony that was the most expensive of the group. It was trounced by S.a.i.n.s.b.u.r.y's own branded one which was less than half the price (funnily enough, it was called Red!).

PS Can anyone tell me I had to do that thing with the full stops to get that retailer to show in my post??

That 'shop' had a major problem with vouchers being abused online.

Great price for a DAB Radio OP.

Definitely not always the case, but generally you get what you pay for.

As for the radio becoming obsolete - depends if its software upgradeable. A lot of the PURE readios can have codec upgrades meaning this new codec will be supported. No idea if this one is though - unlikely I would say...

You are all fortunate to have a "local" Netto.

They do not have a single store in Scotland.

Trust me, they're not worth moving south of the border for.:giggle:
