Seems like a cracking deal to me considering this is only 1 inch smaller than my Dell 21" CRT monitor (which has a 20" viewable area hence 1" smaller) and it's native resolution is 1280 x 1024 which is one of the few resolutions that matches what the xbox 360 can output through vga. Plus 5ms response time is a bonus for games and the native resolution will never be blurry unlike those 1650x1050 and 1440x900 monitors which the 360 can't output the exact resolutions to.

It's priced at half the price of my Viewsonic VP930 so it is an affordable alternative for those who want to to use the PC and xbox 360 on the same monitor but have little space on their desktop, but must have a native resolution monitor that matches the output of the PC and 360. The only thing on paper it is missing compared to the VP930 is the extra VGA port (of which there are 2 on the VP930). No information is available as to whether it is digital or analogue DVI unfortunately. I've put together a little summary below to decide what you can use with the monitor depending on whether it has an analogue or digital DVI connection - those with an HDMI enabled 360 and VGA PC graphics card are covered no matter what, there is a scheme that will work for them (at most you waste the cost of a cheap £5 cable to find out whether it's digital or analogue DVI to buy the right cable next). It's only if you have a DVI only PC graphics card with non-HDMI 360 OR a VGA only PC graphics card with a non-HDMI 360 where you may be taking a risk that is is analogue DVI or digital DVI respectively.

DVI-A(nalogue)
PC = VGA connection
360 = VGA connection, 1 of either the PC or 360 needs a VGA -> DVI connector on the end of the VGA cable connecting to the monitor, these can cost around £5.

DVI-D(igital)
PC = DVI + 360 = VGA
OR PC = VGA and 360 must have HDMI socket and you need a HDMI to DVI cable.

Free Delivery applies until Sunday midnight then you will need to add either another £6 or £8.50 for delivery to the £109.98 the monitor costs (delivery charge varies depending on weight of item which I haven't found out)

Great post David.

Thanks for taking the time to explain the tech details.

It will be a DVI-D monitor since it makes little sense for a TFT screen to process analogue DVI (Digtal DVI is literally mapped directly onto the pixels, analogue signals must be processed).
