Thanks for the heads up on the 19". It has speakers built-in, whereas the 20" doesn't

Lower resolution though (1440x900 compared with 1680x1050) - can't beat screen real-estate :)

One of the reviewers said the sound was a bit tinny, so maybe it does after all. Not sure I would rely on it tho'

plus 3% discount with Quidco!!!

can this be wall mounted

Not a terrible price if you have to use VGA - but is it just me or are we seeing more and more of these old VGA-only screens being marked down nowadays? Without DVI it's a bit of a white elephant, I think.

BUT - still thanks for the heads up :)

Hi ordered this from dabs the other day. Got it yesterday. Got to say I'm impressed, it has speakers built in behind the bottom corners of the monitor. Also is a 20.1" monitor unlike as stated and is widescreen. Also has a cool blue light on the middle bottom of screen, which I love as it goes with my case :)

It's a pity that Dabs has gone down the tubes and is one of the poorest online retailers still trading. Also, if you take the free delivery it will be via HDNL, which are the worst couriers in history. Basically, a lethal combo. I ordered a TV on Sunday 6th, paid for next day delivery and now it is the 13th and I have still not received it. Sent via HDNL. Not voting cold because the deal is aight, but the company(ies) s-u-c-k. Dabs has no customer service, ebuyer all the way.

Couldn't disagree more. Ordered a Samsung monitor in December which HDNL delivered quickly in perfect condition. I had a problem with a discount voucher that Dabs had emailed to me. Customer Service replied quickly to my complaint and credited my credit card. Excellent service all round. Not really fair to slate Dabs and HDNL because of a problem with your order although I understand your frustration.

Whats wrong with VGA? Theorhetically it should make the picture worse, but i've got a VGA 22" TFT (a Xerox one) and it actually looks better than my 19" Liyama DVI monitor...

Anyone know if I'll be able to hook my ps2 up to one of these? I'm looking to save space in my conservatory and want to be able to share my PC/PS2 screen...

Thanks.

For a £5 more you can still pick up the Acer P193w 19" widescreen Cystallbrite monitor from Amazon.

Took delivery of mine last week and it's awesome.

Loads of good user reviews scattered all over the web (mainly 5 stars) and this for a so called out of date dinosaur of a VGA input monitor.

Qualifies for suer saver free delivery on Amazon.

You'll need to get a converter cable and a VGA splitter.

 Oh ok, thanks. I'm a bit of a luddite when it comes to these things. I haven't got a clue.

I'm basically after a lcd monitor for around £100-150 that has a good resolution and speakers built in. Is there anything else I should be looking for in a monitor? :?

Why you all so worried about it having DVI?

Most modern graphics cards usually only have dvi out and require a vga converter. VGA is the outbound standard - dvi is effectively the replacement.
#22
ah cool have both on my G card

Does anyone know if the 20" has 3 a year onsite warranty?
#24
orderd today thanks

response time seems abit poor though im thinking about getting a 20 this looks like a bargain in theory.

nice find

Surely the 19" one is better as it has VGA, HDMI and DVI inputs.

HI guys,

Thanks very much for the deal - I took delivery of mine tonight.

I have plugged everything in fine, and rebooted VIsta. It picked up the new monitor and reset the resolution etc to best fit the monitor (previous monitor was a 19 inch CRT).

However, I am getting about 2 pixels worth of white flicker at the very top of the screen, and it is coming about half way across the top of the screen. Is this a faulty monitor that I need to return, or do I need to download a driver or something?

Has anyone else had this problem?

Any help gratefully received.

Thanks

Steve

It's a weird one.

It's not the monitor, as the flicker isn't there without being in Vista. But it's only there when I have the resolution set at 1680 x 1050 (the res Vista set it to). If I lower the resolution (which looks ****) then it goes away completely.

I have checked that I have the latest drivers for my graphics cards from Dell (inbuilt one that comes in the Vostro 200) and I have the latest driver for a generic PnP monitor.

Is this going to be a bl00dy Vista drivers problem does anyone think? Or is it something else.

If it helps, I also can't set my refresh rate to greater than 60 hz at the moment. Could that be causing it?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm not sure what else to try and am dissapointed my new monitor isn't all nice and working out the box - not it's fault though!
