DabsValue 19'' TFT Black 8ms £116.99 delivered

I think this is a particularly good price for what seems a rather nice looking monitor that has a 8ms response time and a DVI interface. It doesnt have any customer reviews on there yet, so not really sure what the quality would be like, but for specs and price it can be compared with the Hanns-G models that have been posted here recently, so i thought it would be worth posting here.

Sorry, of course it is...!

Better grab these low priced LCD monitors whilst you can. The word is that prices are going to rise sharply because of demand...

and this one has DVI connectivity and the 17'' value one doesnt ;-)

Well, my monitor came today, speedy service. I'm used to a 15" CRT so I was a bit in awe of its size when I unwrapped it! Plugged in, switched on, it did an auto-setup to find the correct screen position etc. All I had to do was change to the best resolution (1280x1024), take the brightness down a tad, as it was on full by default, and we're away. Looks beautiful, zero dead pixels, no complaints at all! Manufacturer is Hanton. No, I've never heard of them either. Not tried DVI input yet (don't have a cable) and the speakers are as poor as you'd expect. Although, to be fair, who uses the speakers on TFTs anyway? All in all, 100% happy with my purchase and I'd recommend it to anyone, at this price you can't go far wrong.
#14
thanks for the feedback leepea  Can i just ask though what DVD/movie playback is like on it, and have you tested it with any games?
#15
Well, as both my DVD drives have given up the ghost, I have no idea yet! I'm not a PC gamer myself, but my housemate had a go with a couple of his and he was apparently rather chuffed with the results. He's hard to impress too!

cheers, thanks for coming back to me on that one.. btw It seems Hanton are the same make as Digimate, or work under the same brand. With pay day edging closer next week, im soo tempted to flex that friend...but im still really stumped on whether to go for this or for the widescreen Hanns-G, its a tough choice

Not anymore it doesn't! The page has been updated to specifically state that this monitor has VGA input only!

Let's hope that those of you who bought one for the DVI input actually get one with DVI input.

Which would be the better deal, this DabsValue screen or the 19" HannsG HU196 at £119.99 delivered from Play.com?

I know! I saw this earlier....how can Dabs get it so wrong?! Im glad i didnt go ahead and buy this now, as i do want a monitor with a DVI connection. Thats what made the deal more attractive to me in the 1st place. However, im sure this is still a great monitor for the price

Well, after realising this DabsValue one has no DVI, it depends on whether you want this extra connectivity option.. But if you are considering that HannsG one you mention, personally i would spend a tenner more and go for the 'older' style one off play as it looks better HERE
#20
Yes, I didn't like the looks either but you can get the one you mentioned from Amazon delivered for £120. They also do the ugly one for about £140!
#21
yeah i did look on amazon and saw it for £119.99, but its not direct from amazon itself, which i would prefer personally. But i guess as its brand new the 3 year warantee would still be the same ;-)

Yep, I've just checked mine, no DVI input. I'm not too bothered but I hope nobody bought it just for this!
