#17
Id go for this but I am looking for a faster response time.
#18
i still get 369.99 with that link :?
#19
The mirai or AOC 32" craps all over this, honestly if your looking at a tv under £400 then there the two you want to go with (i reccomend the AOC one, stunning for its price.. comparable to many tv's in the £500-600 range including samsung.. Plus every single PIP/POP/PAP setting you could imagine, great for multitasking)

This is coming up £369.99 for me as well.

Does anyone have a link for the AOC? as I can't seem to find it in the search?

Thanks

Mike

None available on first site, second site will not be available until at least 20 Feb

It would appear they do one in silver on a different stand

I have found the AOC in black for £358 at

http://www.ite2u.co.uk/index.php/cPath/125_126

Nearly went to order one at a different site but found it was the N32W451T not N32W551T, does anyone know what the difference is?

Cheers

All you need is a £20 digi box from Asda to use any tele when analogue is turned off.

one is black, one is silver. small difference on specs on brightness.

Would I notice the difference (I am not a hard core gamer)

The 451 has 10% more cd/m2 but is only 1000:1 compared to 1200:1

They may as well say there are 700 bananas per fuzzy chipmunk. It doesn't mean much to me. Can anyone definately say one is superior to the other, as she who must be obeyed wants one in silver but as a bloke, I would argue that the functionality is more important!

If that's all I can feel the credit card coming out.

Many thanks

Mike
#29
The 551 has a 6.5ms response time and 1200:1 ratio
The 451 has a 8ms response time and 1000:1 ratio

The 551 is the better of the two as the screen updates quicker (more fluid) and is less "blocky" therefore gives a clearer picture

one with built-in digital tuner or you can buy a freeview box for about £20.

There are rumours that freeview will be going to mpeg4 in a few years time, which if it happened would render some/most current freeview boxes redundant.

I'd suggest getting something with a digital tuner as rommy says, but make sure it has a connector for an external box if standards change in the future.

Hi peeps

First post but been lurking a few month`s now.
I also was gonna order the dabs value tv but account side was down the other night, then i started reading the rest of this thread so plunged for the AOC 551T from Microdirect yesterday 3:30pm it arrived this morning as i was just leaving for work !!, wasn`t supposed to arrive till tommorrow (had day booked off) now i`ve got to wait till i`ve finished work to try it.

It`s going in the bedroom and i hope the Xbox360 works as good on it as it does on the Panasonic PW6 42" plasma we have in the lounge.

£377.74 - £9.64 From Quidco £ 368.10 *Bargain*

Especially when you consider the Panni cost over £1400 just over 2 yrs ago !!

I`ll let you know what it`s like once it`s sorted ;)

Ill look forward to your comments mate, let us know how it compares to the panny.

And is there any light leakage (like most laptops).

Just an update m8

Picture for the price is brilliant it`s the 1st lcd i`ve had so can`t compare it to any others more expensive it`s certainly more brighter picture wise than the panny PW6 but there again that is a plasma one.

Freeview brilliant 5/5

Starview box 4/5 but thats down to the cable companeis signal

XBOX 360 wise you can`t fault it either, H/D is 5/5

No dead pixels either i`d recomend it to anyone after a cheap 32" LCD
#35
i cant find the tv on microdirect
