I have been into Zavvi yesterday & they have the complete boxset for £39.99.

This is the cheapest I have seen, so I bought a copy

Ta for spotting this!

P.S. Perhaps those who are voting cold could do us a favour and point out where we can get this 14 disc set for less - ta very much.

I regularly read the Guardian and advise this is a HOT deal.
However the series isn't complete as there are still several missing episodes.

To answer my own question, just, it can be got from DVD.co.uk for £39.87 - which also saves me the trouble of registering for an account at Zavvi.

Anyone know why DVD.co.uk isn't included (it seems) in the results at www.find-dvd.co.uk?

Chelskii, ah yes - hadn't thought of that. You're more than likely right. They'll have even less to smile about come the next general election, when the good people of Britain will hopefully come to their senses at long last ;-)

P.S. Musicals, do you know which episodes are missing please?

Re. your Guardian reading, you realise, I hope, that it's not mandatory to buy the Guardian? (Unlike BBC News, the broadcast wing of the Guardian, which it is compulsory for every TV owner to buy whether they watch it or not. Ooh er, controversial!).

According to the box it says that the episodes from Season 2 are lost. Not missing. If the boxset was made & the episodes where missing then this boxset would be really cheap to clear through, but as they are lost then they will never be in a boxset so therefore not missing

This is how I justified it to my thinking

Five of the six episodes of series 2 are missing, according to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dad\s_Army_missing_episodes.

In your title and desc you state that the set is complete. It's not.
Presumably, if and when they are found, as many deleted episodes have been, another "complete" set will be issued. ;-)

Don't read the Guardian but still voted cold for the second least funny show ever. Only beaten by Last of the Summer Wine"
