these are ace :)
i got a twin tuner 160gb for 45 on ebay !
OK, but would want a twin tuner for that price
Think I'd avoid this brand if I was you.

Bought two of their more expensive twin tuner boxes almost 2 years back for family/friends. The family one broke down after 3 or 4 months. The other continues to work but Daewoo provide ZERO support to committed customers.

They have updated the firmware to correct various bugs and provide new features but seem to 100% refuse to offer an OTA broadcast so if you've already committed to Daewoo it's 2 fingers to you from them = not a customer attitude to support with any future £.
This looks like the Daewoo DSD9520.
All the user reviews for the Daewoo on Amazon are negative. This is the only 2 star review (all the others gave 1 star):

"We've had one of these for about 18 months (actually sent one back for replacement after the first 3 months) and generally agree with other comments about its poor performance and noise. We are still using it though. Sometimes it works properly but usually there is something wrong and often it is a very annoying struggle but in general you can at least watch freeview channels which is the main thing for me. Often the recording stops working (saying disk full when it clearly isn't) and usually the EPG has a lot of information missing. Sometimes it will fix itself when switched off (that is unplugged rather than just switched to standby); sometimes it needs to have the hard disk re-formatted from the setup menu which loses all saved recordings; and sometimes neither of these help. I presume its problems are mainly software related and keep checking the software update function to no avail. This is now quite an old model and has always had problems from what I've read so you might think the manufacturers would have fixed it by now ... IF THEY CARED!"
I've had one of these for nearly 2 years now. It can be a little buggy but as I switch it off at the mains every night I think the reset avoids a lot of problems. The EPG does take a bit of time to fill out and still misses out a lot of the later channels info. The only other snag is you need a REALLY good signal. For example, I have a booster at the aerial end but I still needed another one at the box so I could get the Channel 5 channels. I've just got Sony's Play TV for my PS3 and off the same aerial it picked up all the channels no problem.

I would only recommend this for a second tv in the house these days.
Is this box loud? My Tiscali TV PVR sounds like fighter jet on take-of!
It does grind a little when its recording but normally its dead quiet.
OK, but would want a twin tuner for that price

Where would you get one of those? I know you can get refurbs about that price... but new???
Good deal, but my issue is more to do with the product. its really not that good, in terms of picture quality and user interface. if you can afford it get a Humax for about 50 pound more you will appreciate it

I go for refurbs, no problems at all.

I would not buy one at any price as I dont see the point if it is not twin tuner
Just bought a Humax 9200 from Humax Direct. This has been a consistent Best Buy machine. Twin Tuners, 160gb hard drive, USB connectivity, super quality.

This is a Grade A product but in reality is absolutely Brand New. Cost £99. Retailers are still selling this at around the £140 plus mark even though it is now a discontinued model.

Don't waste your money on this, save up a bit more and get the Humax; but be quick as this has been replaced by newer models (with less features) so the 9200's are sure to run out soon.

Had one of these for about 18 months. Absoutely no problems other than the case buzzed sometimes with the vibration of the hard drive. A quick press sorted that out. They are a good little box. Much better to program than my IKASU box

Damn, looks like the deal has ended.
