Scotland wants rid of this paper once and for all. Voted cold, but it is nice to hear that they are struggling.

I don't see any point of buying a Sunday paper to get £2 off. You end up with £1.20 and poundland is no longer a bargain. B&M and Home Bargain always sell things cheaper than Poundland.

I might be wrong, but just because Scotland leave the UK, I don't think Wales and Northern Ireland have to too??

Well if Scotland left (which I seriously hope we do in the near future), it wouldn't be the United Kingdom.

No answer to your "several sources". You are a regular reader of scientific peer review papers, no doubt. Of course, you "have heard". I have heard from several sources it is refreshing to dive off the Forth Bridge. Let me know via your carer how it went.

Bit late for this one - but No! No! Just No!
Agree with you there - NO, as in no point commenting after an event that won't take place again anytime soon
Making idiotic suggestions for any use that endangers people. FAIL!
You obviously have a science FAIL! Unused x-ray is noted by several sources to view eclipse without harming your eyes. It's over, you haven't worked that out either. Look closer to home before mentioning 'idiotic'. Troll off.
I have a Science Degree. What are your qualifications exactly? Qualified, Certificated Troll Catcher? Maybe you are Certified, perhaps.
Looking at the sun with a piece of film at any time is cretinous advice. From comments on this site, some people have to be protected from themselves.
Discarded piece of film - free; cost of hospital treatment for damaged retinas - priceless.

Thar
I buy a fresh chicken from Aldi every week and have had no food poisoning issues. Washing chicken before cooking, what's all that about?
Thar -I am with you please DON'T wash them!!.The quality of the chicken at Aldi is great especially the free range but the facts are currently 3-4 chickens out of every 5 will be contaminated where ever you buy them. The important thing here is how it is cooked - just like Pork and tape worm in the past. If it is done properly then there is no risk. For those unsure buy a meat thermometer. A few quid will prevent both food poisoning and Nuking any meat.
The issue with washing is that the CB will be splashed in your kitchen. Water vaporises it and it will spread to your worktops, cloths tea towels etc.
Prep your chicken, including the modern cook's worst fear of sticking your hand inside it, on a designated (red ideally) chopping board.. Thoroughly clean the board or better still put it in the dish washer and use another. Wash your hands, clean all utensils and spray your surfaces before you prep veg. You will then continue to enjoy your chicken wherever it has been bought.

Sorry to 'suck eggs' on you thar but this washing chicken practice needs to be addressed.
Leave Jase to continue microwaving his Ice Cream/

No reduction in quality???? Aldi which was included under the others category had 76% of chickens contaminated in recent studies, this was second highest to Asda with the most. Tesco had the lowest contamination at 64%.

Actually, that's total nonsense.

It's impossible to calculate an individual figure for Aldi because the 76% figure that you quote includes a collection of retailers, taking in chains such as Lidl, Aldi and Iceland, along with individual retailers and butchers.

So your alleged 76% for Aldi is just plain wrong - it could easily be lower than Tesco's 64%. We just don't know. Another unfounded attack on Aldi from you, I'm afraid, making you look more and more like a Tesco employee worried about losing his job to a better retailer.

Or it could be even higher and chances are Aldi could possibly have the most contamination in its chickens. They will have figures for Aldi and Lidl but they won't release them as this would look bad on them, another slip out. No i do not work for tesco but do prefer the british supermarkets and even if i did i wouldn't be worried as Tesco is the biggest and most popular retailer in the UK and 2nd in the world, if Aldi were so much better this wouldn't be the case. Enjoy your contaminated chicken at the Aldi marketing HQ. Over.

Apart from the hassle of filling two trolleys, this is a great deal. £40 wouldn't fill a basket at Tesco. :p
Got loads from Tesco this week for £40 obviously if you buy the premium brand when they aren't on offer it's going to cost more but we buy what's on offer and tesco own brand products and you get plenty. The only reason people seem to spend more at tesco is that they buy premium products and compare this to an Aldi shop where most of their products are own brand. I've shopped at both these places in the last few week and bill has been similar. Plus I get £5 off my next shop at Tesco every week without buying the paper
Good point but in my opinion the aldi own brand is better quality than the tesco value..I don't know if anyone else finds this. Aldi fruit and veg is undoubtedly better than tesco.
I didn't say Tesco value i said Tesco own brand. The Tesco own brand products are better quality than Aldi from the ones i have tried. Also the fruit and veg is better at Tesco and lasts longer but maybe you're local stores differ to the ones near me or you haven't been to Tesco for a while.
My Tesco fruit and veg is rubbish compared to Aldi - Aldi always lasts a lot longer

Thats strange as we have had fruit and veg from Tesco in the fridge for well over a week (sometimes up to two week) and it always stays fresh.

Jase, you're either working for Tesco (and worried about your job) or a fool. Or both. Your frequent silly and completely unjustified attacks on Aldi (the latest of which is above) show just how little you know about statistics, supermarkets and the way the FSA carried out these tests.

You argue that Aldi could possibly have the most contamination in its chickens. By the same daft logic it could also have none whatsoever.

You just carry on shopping (and maybe working) at Tesco, happily unaware that you're being ripped off. Tesco needs people (lemmings?) like you. I find it particularly amusing that when you talk to the staff in our local Tesco Extra (yes, I do go in there occasionally) many of shop at Aldi because they prefer the quality - and the prices! :)

Record will do anything to sell papers in Scotland, but it still won't help them!
There are also leaflets instore that give you £5 off a £30 spend, for those who can't bring themselves to buy a "newspaper".
If you can't find it in the Record then check copies of the Evening Times tonight. Found mine in there, the Record only had inserts for Argos & Sky.

One voucher per transaction, no mention of a limit on alcohol items. Must be used at the Rutherglen store.
it's on Cambuslang Road, Rutherglen G32 8NB. The voucher is valid between 6th/12th November.
Where is the new store going to be? Can't believe I've totally missed this. You'd think Cambuslang one would be enough.

Used my voucher today, took my shopping through the checkout and it came to £39.97 so had to ask the checkout woman to scan through a pack of 33p chocolate buttons.

For the amount of stuff I bought I was surprised it wasn't over £40.

[quote=Valiantcat] NB for the Morrisons price match, you have to spend a minimum of £15 in Morrisons. Not sp great if you only want a few things that you know will be cheaper in Aldi.

Completely useless to pricematch, like the Sainsbury's brand match. If you buy 10 things cheaper in ALDI and then stick a BOGOF in your trolley that is netted off so they say you saved money shopping there.

All the card now does is remind me I should have gone to ALDI

That's a good use for the Morrison card - thanks!

When I'm shopping in aldi (which is once in a while) I deliberately take my time when going through the check out, I don't succumb to the get out as fast as you can policy.
You do understand, don't you, that by doing that you are punishing person on the till? Their pay rate depends on how quickly they put stuff through. If you wanted to prove you point to company, you would just go elsewhere.
No packing on till, no shelves, quick process - it is al reflected in price, take it or leave it.

I'll shop at aldi if I want to, thank you. I shop there for my own convenience. No I didnt understand that the workers pay depends on how quick the checkout is, I've never seen a sign saying so. Why should I suffer because of a workers bonus? When I'm at the till in aldi I'll compose myself and take my own time I'm not going to let them make me feel pressured and undue stress put on me.

You can't use the voucher with a clubcard voucher. I got refused and rang customer service & they said the same I can't use both coupons. Treated me like cr*p never shopping their again.
LeedsJim
just been and used mine. If, like me, you also had some £3 off £20 spend vouchers from your clubcard, you can use both together and they work. Use the £5 one first obviously so you don't take yourself below £40 with the £3 one!
And they worked through the self-checkout tills too... :)

I had a couple of £4 off a £40 spend vouchers included with my last clubcard statement. I was going to use them both to get £9 off a £49 spend, but decided to combine the £12 off a £60 spend for 'new' customers online. Ended up, with a few other smaller e-coupons, getting a £60 online shop for £41.15. Quite pleased with that.
Just seen this, doing shop sunday, anyone got one spare, would be great.
