Was just about to pick up my normal 69p galaxy bar which itself is a bargain, I noticed the above chocolate bar was 39p and for 250grams which is double the galaxy. Hopefully some of you will agree this is a great price.

Only drawback I can see is the sell by date is this month but at that price who cares!!

First deal, so feel free to abuse as you please!!

There should be no more chocolate or Haagen Daas deals posted, I am diabetic and you guys are killing me!
(the preceeding comment was humorous and should not warrant ' You are old enough to make your own choices' or ' we are not responsible for you gorging on chcocolate or/and ice cream' comments)

Thorntons are doing 4 bars of diabetic chocolate bars (fudge and turkish delight) for £2.00 normally £2.36 if that helps :-D

Nice find. Has anyone else noticed that Cadbury seem to be finding it hard to shift their chocolate these days without discounting it?

Personally, I prefer my chocolate to be salmonella-free (it shouldn't be possible to put the words cadburys and salmonella into google and come up with so many bad things!) - maybe there are others who feel the same way too!

As far as I'm aware, (after reading a post on HUKD a few weeks ago), Cadbury are planning to move one of their factories to Poland from Bristol, so although I like Cadbury chocolate, I'm boycotting their products. (That is, unless they change their minds and continue in Bristol).

I think a fair few people might well be doing the same. Judging by the number of Cadbury discounts I've seen recently, it looks like they might be having trouble shifting their products.

Chocolate - voted HOT for the benefit of women everywhere!!!

Mmmm - HOT! Absolutely no good for the diet

Surely the more you boycott Cadburys the more chance there is that they will produce cheaply in Poland rather than continue to pay expensive British wages? Or have I missed something?
#13
hot, few good bargains from there now but no store near me unfortunately.

Yes I think you have, unfortunately. Cadbury has long since lost its positive Quaker background and is now just another profit-hungry company which will do anything it can to cut costs. No matter how much or how little of the product we buy (with or without salmonella) it will ruthlessly cut costs, and if this means moving production to Poland, that's what it will do.

Got to say I love Cadbury choc but this one is probably there worst product, its horribly runny and sticky in the middle, great post if you like this stuff though !

I was in Home Bargains yesterday and I was amazed at most of their prices, you could probably put their entire inventory as deals on the forums.

I'm in retail and most of the stuff on their shelves seems to be below the wholesale price a lot of the indepenant trade can buy for.

This is a great deal voting hot.

As for cadbury's moving production abroad to reduce costs, in a competitive market it is unfortunately the kind of money saving activity a lot of firms feel they need to do.

Most of the deals on these forums are for products manufactured where the labour is cheapest, to single out cadbury's is unfair.

I'd try not to be in the same room as this stuff, then.
