This is how it works...

You pay £2 as a deposit for preordering The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown...This gets you a free copy of Deadline by Simon Kernick...

There is a voucher inside the free novel you get....You submit this voucher along with your bill when you go to collect your copy of the Lost Symbol and just pay £7.99...so in effect you are paying £9.99 for The Lost Symbol...but you are also getting Deadline by Simon Kernick (worth £6.99) for free...

Saw this today in Bluewater WH Smith. Can't see why it's cold as effectively you are getting the Deadline book for 50p if you compare the Smith's pre-order price of the Lost Symbol to Amazon's which is £9.49

Not a big fan of Kernick's books tho to be honest, chav fiction if you ask me . . .

+ heat for the deal tho
