I always feel with bigger drives, I want something that looks better and stronger. But all the funky driives seem to come in small capacities. Good price for a 16gb drive though:thumbsup:

You can't always trust manufactures figures on speed.
Does anybody know of any web sites which have benchmark figures for USB memory?
#9
ive got this and max out at about 15mb

use this program to test speed your pen drives.
http://sosfakeflash.wordpress.com/2008/09/02/h2testw-14-gold-standard-in-detecting-usb-counterfeit-drives/

By the way, if anybody has purchased this memory stick - Dane Elec 16GB - Please post your test result shown in the program. Thanks in advance.

That's not right as quoted on the website: Write Speed: 98x (14.6MB Per/Sec), Read Speed: 231x (33MB Per/Sec)

yeah noticed that, but i suppose thats in a "perfect scenario" or there just lying :)

still i think its a excellent product, much prefer it to the cruzer.
#16
so it seems that every merchant they are ripping off their customers. Just ask myself who is responsibility for that then? for what they are selling unright products on the website
#17
well the same goes for wireless internet really doesnt it? the speeds advertised will never be reached unless you are in perfect conditions, no interference e.t.c..

its still fast however and think its worth the price.

Very tempting, but I will wait for 32GB version. I have notice that the bigger files the better transfers. 700MB file will copy faster than 100s of small files...
My old 4gb Transcend shows as fallows;
Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
Writing speed: 6.80 MByte/s
Reading speed: 25.0 MByte/s

This is what I got from my 16GB ByteStor Dataferry, fasted write speeds by a long way!

Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
Writing speed: 14.3 MByte/s
Reading speed: 24.6 MByte/s

i have had this memory stick for about 6-7 months and no problems with it, no errors, fast read/write, very small... Only problem is the cap, you wouldn't want to use the loop on it as that is the cap and you can lose the stick... And well mine has been through the washing machine about 4 months ago and still nothing wrong with it!
