This is the cheapest a physical copy of the game has gone for in a while I think. Can't recommend Danganronpa enough for vita owners. Read More

I've never played a visual novel before... Is this a good place to start? As a Vita fan, I feel I should at least give one a go.

Yes definitely, this is a lot more interactive than other visual novels and is really interesting. Id take a look at the overview of the story and see whether you are interested.

I think this is similar price on psn. Edit: actually it is £14.99 on psn and £19.99 for number 2. This isn't a bad price for a physical copy though

Having recently picked up a Vita I'm on the lookout for reasonably-priced good games. So far it seems most of the content for the Vita is Japanese and typically features high schools or young women.

The main thing I notice on Wikipedia about Danganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc is:
Makoto Naegi, an average student selected to join Hope's Peak Academy, arrives at the school only to lose consciousness and later find himself trapped inside the school, along with fourteen other students. There, a sadistic remote-controlled teddy bear by the name of Monokuma announces that the students will be forced to live in the school forever, offering only one way to graduate: murder another student and get away with it.

I suppose a sadistic remote-controlled teddy bear is a good reason to get this...

Id say the best vita games are typically JRPGs and visual novels so it is very Japanese orientated id say like you say.

I'm in the same situation, but I love JRPGs. Just playing Persona 4 golden for the first time and loving every second.

I've got Root Letter, if I get on with that I'll look at some of these other titles.

Id say root letter isn't as good as this. Id give root letter a 7/10 where as id give this about an 8.5/10

I've completed Root Letter and I got a bit bored with it, I don't think visual novels are my thing. Is DanganRonpa a visual novel?

Yeah it is but this is WAY better than root letter. Danganronpa is a lot more interactive as you actively go around investigating cases and going to court and the cases are a lot more interesting.
