Dante's Inferno

FREE Dante's Inferno Artbook with all Pre-Orders

Dante's Inferno will take gamers to the western world's most definitive view of the afterlife as created in the 13th Century by the Italian poet Dante Alighieri in part one of his epic classic, "The Divine Comedy." Dante's Inferno tells an adapted story that focuses on delivering a blockbuster third-person action game experience while bringing Alighieri's depiction of Hell to the medium.

Players assume the role of Dante, who descends into Hell after returning home to find his beloved Beatrice murdered, with Lucifer seducing her soul into the underworld. Dante sets out on a rescue mission to save Beatrice, but he soon realises he is also in Hell to face his own demons and ultimately to redeem himself. Players will take Dante through nine unique circles of Hell as mapped out and described by Alighieri: limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery.

An Epic Adaptation of a Classic: Based on part one of Dante Alighieri's classic poem "The Divine Comedy," Dante's Inferno is a third-person action adventure game that takes Dante on an epic journey through Hell as he seeks to rescue the soul of his beloved Beatrice.

The Nine Circles of Hell: Just like the poem, players will descend through Dante's unique nine circles of Hell: limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery. Each circle features distinct environments, enemies and story elements befitting the sins committed by their inhabitants.

Control the Beasts of Hell: Dante's Inferno features large scale beasts and bosses, some of which Dante will be able to fully tame, utilising them to throw back Hell's wrath to its minions.

Fast, Addictive, Responsive Combat: Dante fights through the nine circles armed with Death's Scythe and Beatrice's Holy Cross, with magic powers and a deep, customisable upgrade system helping the player take full advantage of a fast and fluid gameplay experience that will never run at lower than 60 frames per second.

SCORCHING !
For such a new game!
#3
Played the demo, thought it was fantastic
#4
entering the 9th circle now, got it as a rental
wouldnt buy the game, it's full of very frustrating platforming and the enemies you fight are extremely repetitive and the QTE events get old real quickly
better off with Bayoneta to keep you busy till God Of War 3 comes out and pick this up when its really cheap

But Bayonetta's a big pile of pants... Dante is much better.:whistling:

having played both, Bayoneta is by far the better fighting game, and the majority of professional reviewers agree.
Dante's plays like a frustrating last gen game with next gen graphics

Opinions are a wonderful thing...

Ive played both myself and much prefer Dante. Stuff the revewers, who are no better qualified than myself to say if a game's good or not.

If you like it play it. If you dont... dont.

This will be down to £17.99 soon I hope due to average reviews.

As I mentioned in a thread ("Dante's Inferno Xbox 360 £34.99 new release @ Coolshop") yesterday...
---
I preferred the demo of "Dante's Interno" to "God of War III"... and I'm waiting for the GAME Exclusive "Death Edition" to come down (a lot) from £49.99.

Yes, the story was tripe, but the action was very enjoyable.

BFN,

fp.

PS. "Heat" added to this deal listing (even though it is ShopTo).

but if you think Bayoneta is a "pile of pants" then your opinion has zero credibility!

you havent even given any reason as to why you think that

Damm i Missed It For The PS3 All Sold Out, been Waiting For This To Drop Under 30 quid .

thegroutch
yeah that's my purchase point for any game, when Zavvi cut it to that price

me too - £17.99 for a 2/3 month old game - £9.99 for a year old game and £29.99 for a brand new release.

this site has been great for finding games at these prices too

(although still haven't found FF13 at the £29.99 mark)

Bayonetta suposed to be alot better
#14
I'd wait on it. It got mainly average to poor reviews so I could see it being sub £20 in a couple of weeks and then when GoW3 comes out it'll most likely be around £10
#15
Bayonetta is much much better. I've played a significant amount of both and Dante is just about as generic as it gets for this genre. Bayonetta brings some pretty awesome style and fun fighting into a genre that Devil May Cry 4 couldn't get me into.

Seriously I highly reccomend saving your pennies and getting Bayonetta

Have to agree... Bayonetta is garbage... Big dissapointment... Dantes inferno is excellent and criminally underated by reviewers,,,

Try playing them both like me..... supposed doesnt really cut any mustard. Bayonetta is poor... Dantes is full of atmosphere & GOW type gameplay.

how do ppl compare this game (or bayonetta for that matter) with devil may cry? ive got pile of games waiting to be opened and played but then who cares :-D
#19
Bayonetta is the better game IMHO (more replayable) - dante's inferno is great for the first 3 levels - i thought we might have a god of war beater but then it's as if they run out of ideas and the rest of the game (particularly level design) is so so

edit: voted hot BTW

bayonetta is kinda like a more playable and light hearted devil may cry
#21
bayonetta, dantes inferno and DMC all suck compared to god of war.
#22
Great game and price. Heat Added and also

lol why do these threads always turn into criticisms against other games used as a comparisson. So far I have heard:-

God of War 3 (PS only btw)
Bayonetta (I personally have not played it)

But then no one has compared it to Darksiders yet :w00t:

Personally I liked this game. This is a typical hack and slash game so expect nothing new from the aspect of button bashing and pressing the right sequence of buttons from time to time. The storyline is great, visuals are out of this world.

For the price it is reccomended. If you liked the demo then buy the game. :stocking:

Well said, i like the game so i will play it and ignore what the reviewers say.
Reviewers are always looking for something completely new and if they don't see new thing they cry and complain.

My boy wanted this, but I checked the reviews and found out the game was completed in 7-10 hours. Hence I went to blockbuster, rented for the week for about 6 quid.
