For what it's worth, this morning. But what relevance is this to the deal???

Would I hear the SACD quality via playing it on my PS3 via an Onkyo TXSR578 and 5.1 surround speakers?

Does anyone know if PS3 does sacd ?

Great album, great format, great price!!

Great album - i spin it in my old sony home cinema system with SACD compatibility built-in. Sadly, Sony in their wisdom?? no longer supply any 'standard' hardware with SACD. They prefer to market it as a specialist format. Surely only older PS3s had SACD? I can't think of any other way to hear it in 5.1. I'm not sure about 'Dukester's' comment about hearing this in 5.1 through his Blu-ray player???
Great deal though...

Another must-have SACD for those with SACD players is Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds. The surround mix is the best I've heard. I think it's so much more dynamic and dramatic than the DSOTM mix as every speaker gets a good work out, especially at volume!

EDIT: I forgot to say that the original 60GB PS3 supports SACD playback - as do some Sony Blu Ray players. My Pioneer DV-600 DVD player has SACD and DVD-A playback, so I just use that. And before I forget, great price OP!

Most newish sony blu ray players can play sacd's and only realised mine did when I saw the sacd logo on the box. The seperation on the begining of "Money" going round the system was fantastic and think I'll be trying to add a few more sacd's to my collection of one!

Heat added.

Great album, possibly the greatest of all time.

I've posted deals on this album 3 times, it always hits the 300-400 degress mark but I got a feeling this one will get super HOT!

Bought this when first released - still listen periodically - what an album!

Does anyone know if SACD format will play on a Linn Classik CD player?

It says 'hybrid CD' so I assume it will play on normal CD player or SACD player.

The first generation '60 GB' models did - they are the ones with the 4x USB ports, memory card slots and PS2 backwards compatibility. Not the newer ones nor the slim.

You'll also need a HDMI connection to a suitable A/V amplifier. The results are superb if you have a proper setup.

Even if you can't play SACD, there is a 'CD layer' on this disc which will play on any standard CD player. It's still a great price for a classic album.

I have HDMI to my Onkyo amplifier, but as I have a new slim PS3 I doubt it would hear the SACD quality then. Shame as I would like to hear this in a new way having heard the normal album hundreds of times.

Yes as long as you have a 5.1 amp and speakers and a sacd capable cd player.

My three favourite SACD's are probably DSOTM, War of the Worlds and The Downward Spiral :)
Dr. Chesky's Magnificent, Fabulous, Absurd & Insane 5.1 Surround Show is also astonishingly good but not particularly musical. Makes a great demo though.

Concerning SACD on PS3, check the PS3 SACD FAQ at http://www.ps3sacd.com/faq.html
