Why cold?

Looks like a good price, on an item thats very useful if you fancy martial art weapon training.
#4
Wow, looks good! Unexpected place to find training weapons! Doesn't seem to include the "tsuba" though
Voted hot!

I don’t have a problem with martial arts in general as sports but as a pacifist I draw the line at ‘weapons training’. Totally unnecessary item.

And I hate football, doesn't mean I go voiting all the football related deals cold!
I train with bokken and shoto all the time so find this a very good deal.

My hot vote cancels yours with the ease or a real samurai sword splitting a bandit in two. Your turn to roll the dice:whistling:

A sword, really - no

Hot , hot, hot. Boken for around a tenner. Can't see why this is cold at all?

I'm adding a hot too, wouldn't have bothered either way, seems like nice decor if nothing else. So your vote counts and mine can cancel out the other guy. It'd like bad TV shows, you don't like it, don't watch it. You don't like a deal on here on principle, leave it for those that know to decide.
#12
I don't think I can release my BANKAI with this training weapon, but for training its great.

Good Deal.

Your an idiot. Is being a pacifist cover in your case for getting your ass kicked on a regular basis for saying dumb-ass things? voted hot as its a pretty good price even though i prefer to train without weapons.

actually your as wrong as anyone can be! Very much needed unless you want to lose vital body parts learning to use the real thing, though if you want to volunteer as a training dummy i will take you up on the offer?

not sure it qualifies as a 'weapon' in the literal sense anymore than a kitchen fork in that it doesnt have a cutting edge to the worst you could get is a nasty slap and thats only if someone was feeling particuarly vindictive! :whistling:

Knowing how to fight with a sword could one day save your life. Those that don't know will be the first to fall to the zombie hordes :giggle:

I think you will find it is you're, not your. Mind you, couldn't expect someone into a deal like this to have any form of intelligence!

soooo true my friend!i m also thinking about starting a martial art based the use of a crowbar for when the horde strikes as these are much more readily available in this country than proper katanas...

thats very true 'you're' right but im dyslexic and typing fast and not performing an exam or test that im aware of. But still if thats the most intelligent quip you can come up with I'm not exactly threatend, ignorance is the excuse of the bigot after all.....

I do (very) occasionally say dumb ass things, hands up to that one. But I have never had my ‘ass kicked’ in my life and haven’t been in a fight since I was about 15. I think you have a bad attitude towards pacifist. I am committed to a non-violent society and as such can not support the sale of a product which is ultimately designed to promote the use of bladed weapons, even if it is just for ‘training’.

Why don’t you try to satisfy your primal urges by watching more Highlander and Zombie plague films.

Heat added, for no other reason than I think those giving it cold are doing so for the wrong reasons themselves. If this is cheap for this item then it is a deal, regardless of your feelings towards the item itself.

TBH this looks ornamental anyway, would split within a few mins of real sparring, but looks nice and as I said is cheap for what it is.

Sure It would be very well suited for practising form and/or kata.
#26
Yeah, for minimal contact use it will be fine. Well, obviously depends on weighting, I've seen ornamental ones balanced like a mace! Wouldn't trust it for actual 1on1 training, but if you're that serious you'd buy a proper training one. Or a broom handle! :D

Still a cheap deal for what it is though, and I'm tempted for my bedroom. Would fit in quite well, although the stand looks cheap. Any idea how big it is?
#27
Voted hot simply to irritate the retards who feel the need to express their pathetic views through the voting system. Even if not used as a training weapon, it is perfectly acceptable to use as a display item. Get a grip you fairies..................

Good lord. This site is not just for pillowcases and prams! To all intents and purposes it is a broom handle on a rack........................god forbid anyone should post a link for a replica light sabre................or boxing gloves, or fencing equipment, or chef's knives, or a drill (seen Hostel?), must admit not seen anyone post a deal on a car yet..........pretty much one of THE most dangerous weapons going that is in the hands of many more people than a stupid wooden sword.

Your toffu is burning..........
#30
heat added, though i am after the celtic style swords for a gift.
#31
I train with bokken, and these do look ornamental rather than usable. Anyone serious about training would be advised to get proper ones. Mine are made of Hickory.

I suspect these are brittle and will break, and could injure you or your sparring partner.

Not voted though, as I think they might be intended for display anyway.

I watched highlander the other night, i love it its a classic "Ramierz was an elitist snob!". If you knew anything about combat however you would know its about control and discipline, the opposite of 'primal urges'.

Any kind of 'combat' is a bit cave man if you ask me. I do like the self discipline side of it and fitness etc, its not all bad. I just find any kind of violence (however controlled and sanitized) a bit repulsive. Each to his own though, as long as you never use it in anger I don’t have a problem with it, its just that some people cant help but use the skills they gain learning martial arts when they feel provoked.

nobody asked you, you volunteered your uneducated opinion so you clearly dont think 'each to his own'. Maybe you should attend a few shotokai classes and learn, if u want ill give you a free intro...
