Deceived by the forces of evil into prematurely bringing about the end of the world, War – the first Horseman of the Apocalypse – stands accused of breaking the sacred law by inciting a war between Heaven and Hell. In the slaughter that ensued, the demonic forces defeated the heavenly hosts and laid claim to the Earth.

Brought before the sacred Charred Council, War is indicted for his crimes and stripped of his powers. Dishonored and facing his own death, War is given the opportunity to return to Earth to search for the truth and punish those responsible.

Hunted by a vengeful group of Angels, War must take on the forces of Hell, forge uneasy alliances with the very demons he hunts, and journey across the ravaged remains of the Earth on his quest for vengeance and vindication.

■Apocalyptic Power – Unleash the wrath of War, combining brutal attacks and supernatural abilities to decimate all who stand in your way
■Extreme Arsenal – Wield a devastating arsenal of angelic, demonic and Earthly weapons; and blaze a trail of destruction atop Ruin, War’s fiery phantom steed
■Epic Quest – Battle across the wastelands and demon-infested dungeons of the decimated Earth in your quest for vengeance and redemption
■Character Progression – Uncover powerful ancient relics, upgrade your weapons, unlock new abilities, and customize your gameplay style
■Battle Heaven and Hell – Battle against all who stand in your way - from war-weary angelic forces to Hell’s hideous demon hordes

Cheers!
Anyone know whether this PC port is good or not?

Lovely game, lots of fun. Great price.

83% for the PC version on metacritic, which is a pretty good score. For those of you that don't know, metacritic.com is a site that takes all the reviews kicking around and gives you overall averages, one for official reviews and one for yer average gamers. The latter gave it 8.4 out of 10. Sounds like it could be a bargain! :)

Good review. I think I'll dig out God of War :)

Got this during the Steam Christmas sales excepting to be slightly disappointed due to people complaining about the controls but instead it was a great game and played perfectly.

Great game for a fiver a steal

I'm playing this at the moment and it's great. It's better than God of War 1 and 2 but plays a lot more like Zelda in its 3D incarnations. There aren't many 'proper' games of this sort on the xbox 360, but this definitely is one. If you liked Zelda or Okami this really is superb.

Good game, brought this on the last Steam deal for £5. Took me bout 15hrs to do the campaign but be warned the Cathedral part is so boring and long, its not really difficult once u know all the games ways of unlocking doors and stuff but man the fun certainly stopped in that part for me, so relieved to get out of there.

Is that section part of the (PS3) demo? That put me off the game completely - was very boring. Yet I always hear good things about the remainder of the game that tempts me...

Yep always baffled me why they put the worst par tof the game as the demo part, the rest of the game is great, the combat is very varied and good fun.

I was also surprised how impressed I was with this when I played it on the 360. The end of the game had me wanting to start playing the inevitable sequel right away! Great combat, puzzles, bosses and the story line isn't too bad either. Definitely worthy of a purchase for a fiver

I agree its amazing game in the 360. Its one of my top five games.

While it doesn't break anything new in the gameplay department, the art style is superb and the game is a joy to immerse yourself in.

PC needs more action adventure platformers other than Tomb Raider anyway

Absolutely gorgeous game. Who knew madureiras art would hold so well in a game.
