I just got a newsletter from the hut and thought this was a pretty sweet deal esp with the mobile internet included.

Mobile broadband wherever you are!

The UbiSurfer is revolutionizing the concept of mobile Internet by offering FREE USAGE with Vodafone. Included in the price of the UbiSurfer is 30 hours of usage per month free for the first year, more than enough for the average user. DataWind pays the network operator (Vodafone), so you don't have to. This means:

You pay nothing else, no separate fees to the network operator.

No activation fees & no service charges.

Works right out of the box.

UbiSurfer allows you to surf for 30 hrs per month for free for 1 year.
Unlimited usage in excess of 30 hours is only GBP 5.99 per month
but requires no contracts. For each subsequent year, a one-off payment
of GBP 29.99 is required to enjoy a full year of mobile browsing.

On top of this when you purchase this device you will also get FREE 25Gb of online storage for all of your files, these can be accessed anywhere!

A perfect travel companion, the UbiSurfer is a connected netbook that delivers fast, easy and free internet access. Utilising an embedded SIM, the UbiSurfer allows you to surf the web anytime, anywhere, for FREE! You only need to pay for the device, not the usage, since 1,800 minutes of web access for a full year on Vodafones UK wireless network is included in the cost of the device. The UbiSurfer also includes WiFi connectivity for unlimited internet within hot-spot range. In addition to WiFi and LAN connectivity, the embedded cellular modem, empowers the UbiSurfer to get you on the Internet easily, wherever you have mobile phone signal, thus making the Internet truly ubiquitous.

Hi
Thanks for posting. And welcome to HUKD.
It is good practice to also add the merchant and price to the title. It helps people who are just browsing through. And in my experience your post will get a few more “hot” votes.
Emmajk42 wrote a couple of very comprehensive and excellent guide for newcomers to HUKD here: - http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/145906/newcomers-advice-on-hotukdeals-gene/

They are well worth taking a look at.
Again, thanks for posting, and welcome to HUKD.
Kind regards Andy

Interesting device, that. With its CPU, screen res, and GPRS capabilities, it seems basically to be an oversized smartphone. Seems to be cheaper than the rest of the market so I'm voting it hot, although I wouldn't buy one personally, since a 400MHz CPU against a 480*800 screen isn't going to be much fun.

I did do a search and couldn't find it.

Once this baby comes on the market it should render alot of the badly designed netbooks obsolete or at least up the anti.It comes with an inbuilt sim which should be useful http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/8219005.stm

So expect it to be running crappy drivers for the first 6months that barely work like my n97 :whistling: To be honest though I think the "booklet" (do we need this many separate names for a netbook?) looks rather ugly when compared to the new versions of the Eee and things like the NC10 and N510s.
