Mobile broadband wherever you are

The UbiSurfer is revolutionizing the concept of mobile Internet by offering FREE USAGE. Included in the price of the UbiSurfer is 30 hours of usage per month free for the first year, more than enough for the average user. DataWind pays the network operator, so you don't have to. This means:

You pay nothing else, no separate fees to the network operator.

No activation fees & no service charges.

Works right out of the box.

That is actually very cost effective.

GPRS? Talk about not fit for purpose! If it doesnt support 3G minimum then this is pretty much unusable...
#3
GPRS only though, no 3G so potentially very slow browsing depending on the type of sites you visit.
#4
Aye it says it loads web pages in 7 seconds *twitches*

It is also very slow in total but at the end of the day this is still a bargain for the price

Unless I am very much mistaken content is routed through datawind's servers and compressed/cut down for the device... so it's surprisingly quick.

But how does this compression make the end users experience? Probably things like facebook/youtube and other web2.0 services wont work well with it.

Plus I wouldn't be happy about my data traversing through my manufacturers site before it reaches me.

Fair enough.

However, what you give with one hand you take with the other - this will reduce data transfer, but increase latency.

In addition, as mentioned above, wont work nicely at all with anything dynamic - 90% of the web :)

This is what happens right!

I bought a PocketSurfer which uses similar download techniques and the speed of the Internet experience was not the issue, the interface and software was hideous!
