Put quite simply this is a black USB keyboard with a converter cable for the original Xbox (keyboard will work on pc etc as well). An essential item if you want to run emulators of old 8/16 bit computers on your modded box, also works with XBMC.

Now the interesting bit. Due to it coming with a converter cable, you can use that bit to plug a standard usb device into your Xbox. So, not got a softmodded box? Grab one of these, a copy of Splinter Cell and an old USB stick and you're well away :-)

Thanks to Kommunist for reminding me, in essence as well as the keyboard you're getting an Action Replay setup too (if you add a cheap USB stick)lol. Now showing as out of stock on the website but still available to order if you care to wait.....

Out of stock -and as is for the original xbox - I have marked it as expired (as I suspect no more stock is likely to appear for a legacy console).

about your note: using usb memory stick to softmod will not work on v1.6 xbox (which is most).
need to use action replay with pc drivers to transfer the files, i'm fairly sure..

I used my 1.6 to to test it and it copied the files fine:thumbsup: You do need the AR program to get the files onto the stick (after first connecting it to the xbox to format it) but there's a link to it in the afterdawn thread I posted earlier:)

I think the problem is the xbox in general doesn't recognise all USB sticks. As long as you get the error message on screen that the stick has been erased when you plug it in and try to read it, it should work on any box.

......Xbox 1 keyboard...OHHHH! Sorry, i thought Xbox 360..
#10
Shengis - from your comments in the original post, you are implying that so long as you have a USB/XBox converter cable, you can use any USB keyboard. Is that correct?

£11.99 now.

360 uses any USB keyboard or wireless keyboard anyway...........Plenty of cheap PC compatible ones around...
#13
Yeah I just use a mini USB keyboard for my 360 and the same keyboard also works on the PS3 and Wii, it's especially great for PS3 YDL.

I think they need to be fat32 formatted and under 4gb, or at least when I did mine they did. A 2gb PNY stick from PC world works as thats what I use.

I use this little adaptor I got with my chip that is the female part of a USB port on a tiny bit of circuit board that slips 'into' the controller port and looks very tidy, i've never seen one anywhere else which is a pity as I need more.

Might as well mod it when you can get a Duo-X 2 for £9.99 online imho.

Should do. You can get the converter cables off ebay or make one yourself.

After what smiff said this morning I decided to experiment. Tried a Fujifilm 4G and the box kept resetting it, tried a poundland card reader with a 2G SD card and that caused the xbox to say the card was 'damaged'. My third attempt was with a 512mb RS/MMC in the poundland reader. That worked but ended up with a copy fail after a few hundred blocks. So it seems in this case less IS more. The stick I first used to test it was a pretty useless 32MB  That works fine though....

If I can find a small SD card (128m or so) i'll test that. In retrospect though I think trying to get this to work as an AR is more trouble than it's worth

AR will not work with Vista. Just in case anyone is thinking of buying it.

I had a failed delivery attempt today of mine. I hate trying to get City Link to redeliver to a works address - worst carriers out there.

Post a picture....

Am not able to at the moment. It's a vey basic black keyboard with 3 extra keys (S1, S2, & S3). It has a usb lead attached to it, but no sign or mention of a usb convertor anywhere. The box it came in was the original box taped up. It looks like very old stock, but the keyboard seems new.
#23
So you can't plug it into the xbox?

Edit for picture. The converter is the small lead at the front....

And I seriously need to get the hoover out

The picture is the same as mine expect without the converter. That's correct. I've bascially just got a keyboard with usb connection. Unable to connect to xbox. Shengis did you purchase your keyboard from softuk?

Yeah I got mine from there. Contact customer services and ask them to sort it out. Without that lead the keyboard is useless for the Xbox.
