Developed by award winning Relic Entertainment, Dawn of War II ushers in a new chapter in the acclaimed RTS series - taking players to the brutal frontlines of war to lead an elite strike force on a mission to save the galaxy. It's the 41st Millennium in the Sub-Sector Aurelia - a cluster of worlds on the edge of the Galaxy - where a battle of epic proportions is about to commence. Ancient races will clash across the planets that dot this section of space, battling for the greatest of stakes - not only the claim to the land and its bounty - but the fate of each race. With a focus on fast-action RTS gameplay, Dawn of War II brings to life the science fiction universe of Warhammer 40,000 like never before. Experience the intimate brutality of battle as you play through your chosen race's epic campaign. Clash with enemies on battlefields ablaze with visceral melee and ranged combat. Lead and develop your squads from raw recruits into the most battle hardened veterans in the Galaxy.

great game if you can get it working! its loaded with horrible DRM that is causing all sorts of problems for users. once again, the developers feel punishing people who actually buy the game will help stop the pirates.

What DRM is in this game? Its linked with Steam which is DRM I guess but I've not heard of anyone having problems with Steam and this game.

Amazing price for an awesome game. Highly recommended.

I would have bought this but Empire: Total War is released on the 4th and buying this will just be a waste of money as I'll hardly play this. Good price though.

I heard you can't even build bases in this game, first one was amazing, but put off by a few poor reviews, has anyone on here actually played it, is it like the first?

Similar but not identical. You don't build bases, you control only 4 squads of guys all the way through the game, but they gain experience and can be improved with more abilities and strengths. You can also find weaponry and armour, accessories and utilities.

It faster paced and less strategic, but has a more action slant with RPG elements. You identify more with the characters in the game too due to the same ones being used. I like it a lot, it is less 'heavy' than the first game but a lot more detailed and intimate.

Nice one, might give this a go for this price, I still play the original every now and again!

Good price.
Just playing the campaign now, and it's fun. It is less of and RTS and more of an action RPG; think of Diablo3 with squads, in space.

Looks great as well.

Does it have online coop?

Single player is like an action RPG, you control the same units and level them up to gain new abilitiies. People are moaning its not really RTS.

Multilayer though is like the first game, with the exception that the base building has been reduced down to one building which everything spawns from. This has proven to be really popular in the reviews I've read. (Single player not so much).

Overall the game has so far scored 87/100 on Metacritic. Everyone is raving about the multiplayer, just the singleplayer leaves people wanting more RTS and less RPG.

Coop is online through Live.

Deal looks like it's ended, gone up to £22
#17
Yea wtf you click buy now and its 22?

This has gone back down to £18 even though it isn't deal of the day, strange but not complaining. :)
