I find it upsetting how the subject of War is made into a game. People have died and suffered (on all sites) and still do in Irak, Afganistan and many other places worldwide. It's not game!

zzzzz, i find it upsetting and sad that you can distinguish between reality and a game

so what games should we be playing?

if anything this is a good thing as it highlights that noone wins in wars

I've not played any games that are just multiplayer online yet so what i would like to know is whether you can actually enjoy teaming up with people when you have no idea how to play the game? The last time i played Left4Dead2 online i just got stupid comments off people because i wasn't any good at the game so I played single player until i was better but with this and other similar games you don't get the opportunity to do that.

I find it upsetting that I just wasted 20 seconds of my life reading this.

I find it upsetting that Pet2000 has posted this on the wrong forum. The Samaritans also have a support line if he is interested.

That aside DoD is fantastic, more fun than TF2 IMO.

Usually I don't feed the trolls, but I find it upsetting that you can't spell Iraq

It was released in September 2005, i.e. less than 6 years ago. Maybe you are thinking about DoD 1.3?

Maybe. Source doesn't have British Army? There was an Egypt level with British troops, I think, on the one I played. And bagpipers?

Foe £1.50 who cares but if you ask nicely someone who has brought this may give you a 3 day pass for free to try it out.

Yeah, that's 1.3 (or even earlier by the sounds of it). Source has much better graphics (based on the HL2 Source engine rather than HL1) but for us old 1.3 players the gameplay is just not as good.

Sheesh, I thought I was the only person who felt like that! I played 1.3 constantly, bought this version for £20 (I think at the time) but didn't enjoy it at all. Haven't played 1.3 under the assumption that no else does! I'll fire it up and have another blast :) Thanks.

This is an awesome game. Spent many fun hours on it, find yourself a nice server and community (and there are many out there) and you cant go wrong for 1.50!

It's because I kept re-reading and relishing the joyful spelling & grammar.

I still play this regularly - most fun are the 'gungame' servers!
#23
Got the game :)..Not bad for £1.50p ;)

Spent many a late night/early morning on this game. Got it a long while back with the first half life 2 package. Spent more time on this than hl2 though so well worth £1.50. Think I'll have another revisit.

See you all on the gungame servers?
