After having 2 cheap microwaves rust inside after a few months i found this today. Its stainless steel INSIDE and out, so hopefully will last longer than a year!
Looks a little bigger inside than the last two 20l microwaves ive had. Pretty well made too.

Click and collect, maybe in-store too.
1.5% quidco (which i missed out on!)

yeah, that was tongue in cheek, however i recall microwaves were around the £200 mark then :3 so about £400 in todays money!

good value per year though.

Seriously though, i had a russell hobbs and a sainsburys own brand, both filled with condensation at every use and rusted on the inside within 3 months. This is a similar price but appears much better built and hopefully wont rust inside.

That was when genuine quality could be found if you were willing to pay for it. I'm afraid they're all cheap tat nowadays.

This looks like it's exactly the same microwave as the Sainsbury's one (bar the De'Longhi logo), which is currently on offer for £39.99

Sharp microwaves are very good if you want that old school reliability. Toshiba are pretty naff.

Really? Sure the door cosmetics are slightly different, but take a closer look at the buttons. Same placement and functions.

No it doesn't

It really does. Slightly different front design, and obvs a different logo, but they are otherwise the same, and I'd imagine they both have the same internals too!

Argos just license the brand to put on Microwaves from China. If you tried to contact Delonghi about the product they would just re-direct you to Argos. The model is likely only sold in Argos and homebase and maybe great universal catalogues. A brand slap basically on chinese goods. The manual provided should have argos/homebase details in it.

Hi ,

Don't get bogged down with the Fascia - this is a cosmetic, mass sold, design with some varitations (usually the LED colour/style and handle)

see here for a much more expensive version (which can also be bought in a counter top model)

there are othr variations made by Caple, bowmann and and some unbranded also,

In my experience these are fairly reliable (as are all MW ovens) but the efficiency is poor (mine was around 50%!) So I'd get a better one and save on the electricity. Fine for occasional use though.

Well on the Sainsbury's site 4.7 out of 5 stars were given in a total of 1666 customers. If the actual users vote for it it must be OK. For £40 what else would you want. Put my order in anyway. A bonus is that it is stainless steel inside, much easier to clean and doesnt rust. I had several microwaves all painted inside and all the paint flaked off. The present one thats failing is stainless steel inside and dead easy to clean.

We had that sainsburys one a few years ago, i can confirm its painted inside and not stainless inside. We gave it away when we bought a russell hobbs, returned that and bought another sainsburys one. All went rusty in the top back corner and around the door shut. I guess all are made in the same factory even maybe the De'Longhi one too BUT the bonus of stainless inside might make a difference.

Magicmat, having had both id say go for this one. The sainsburys ones are painted, as most are at this price, and it really seems bigger inside, maybe 23l?

oh, 5 beeps too! 8)
