I have stayed at various De Vere hotels across the country, although not Slaley Hall, and they have been typically conferencing hotels located in very rural locations. And if staying during the week, although the food is very good, it is not a romantic place to visit with lots of people in a restaurant collecting their dinner from a the hot plate.

This might be a good deal, but you should research the place on Trip Advisor before booking.

I did research it and I did see mixed reviews about it but I'm also a firm believer of 'don't knock it until you have tried it'. If I went off all the negatives reviews I have read on trip advisor / travel watchdog then I would never leave my house lol :)

Plus the price seems great to me for what you get. We are stopping on a Friday night (Bonfire night) so hopefully won't be many business people floating around :)

I did stay here recently, with the family.
I have stayed at other DeVere hotels and this was my least enjoyable experience of all.
Rooms were badly in need of a refurbishment, some had been done, but not the ones we had.
Breakfast was very poor.
Didn't have an evening meal so can't comment.
If you play golf, you will love the course - I don't so again no comment.
Swimming pool - water quality! Take goggles.
value for my stay, no.
At this price, worth at try, it may suit you and your family.
Even at this price, I probably will not go there again.

I live less than 4 mile from this hotel.. golf courses are fantastic but the accomodation is nothing special, vastly overpirced, as is the bar and the restaurant...

I don't play golf so will miss out on that part. The meal is included in the price so just the bar I will have to tackle but with free wine on arrival I probably wont hit the bar that much :)

Seems very expensive considering the recent room for £20 offers on De Vere

Some of Slaley Hall are in need of a upgrading but it is still miles ahead of many of the devere hotels.I regularly stay at devere's the only one i would NEVER stay at again is blackpool. There was a queue to complain. One couple were complaining about their wedding, honey room suite with ripped carpet ,lounge area seats had sponge coming out .I could go on as i did to the management who never got back to me.
This deal at slaley hall is good as it is one of there deluxe hotel.i would book.
