CEX don't sell new games as such and their own policy states the wrap has to be taken off before they can buy it in. I picked this up (offline) from them for £18 but the copy I had wasn't registered online so might be worth going for the £18 offline version.

Yes they do!

If it has a (S) next to the title it means it's sealed

i bought battlefield bc2 (S) from cex website, it wasn't sealed and dlc code had been used. I seen sealed games instore, but there's no guarantee you'll get a sealed one buying online.

If it's not sealed then send it back and demand a replacement

There's a reason why they charge more for having an (S) in the title

Not bashing the deal, just passing on what I was told when selling on a new game.

If you trade instore they won't take sealed copies and will open them and give the open packet price. If you post them to them, they'll take them sealed and often give you more for it :)

I had 2 games for christmas and a dvd i didn't want (all sealed) took them to cex and he wouldn't take them and accused me of shoplifting and bringing them there. I made an official complaint but as it is cex style i never got a reply.

The (s) means in sealed condition, ie the dlc unused etc. This will not be wrapped

question about extraction, does it come on disc or do you get a code to d/l off psn? I've read conflicting reports, was googling and 1 website said it'll be a d/l(admitidedly this was an old article if I remember correctly) and another site/s said it's on disc.

phoned up both games in town and both only have the pre-owned, the guy from the 1st store said you get code for extraction while the guy from the other store said its on disc(he had to check with some one else as he didn't know)

gamestation are ment to have it for new £24.99(was so on friday) but the guy on the phone said it's £27.98 but they do have stock(forgot to ask how many copies they have as going in tomorrow), used they've got for £22.98.

I managed to get a online code for dead space 2 by looking in blockbusters(had to try 2 stores, 1st store the code had been used) so if extraction is on disc and doesn't need a code I can save myself a few quid.

Extraction is definitely on the disc. The code is an online code which enables you to play MP. The MP is lame, imo, so you wouldn't be missing much even if you bought the game used and the code had been used.

thanks for the reply, going into town tomorrow so will decide then if I should save myself £5 and get the used or get the new copy(already have a working online pass so might just save myself £5).

btw do you happen to have dragon age: origins, dragon age2 or mass effect 2? I have dragon age2 on the pc but the ps3 version of dead space 2 is ment to unlock the ser isaac armor for dragon age 2 for all formats not just ps3.

Don't bother buying at cex! You will be disappointed with their service.

CEX don't send SEALED games... Last month i bought Creed Brotherhood Codex Edition (S) it was not sealed.. i told them and they said they dont sell sealed games.

I bought a copy; I'll let you know whether or not it's sealed. To be honest, I don't care if it's not sealed. Nor do I care if the code has been used. What I do care about, however, is whether or not it has an ugly CeX sticker on the box (obviously this won't matter if it arrives sealed).

If you did not care if the DLC had been used then why not just buy the standerd edition NEW for £17? As if the DLC is used that is ALL you are getting but in USED condition.

Simple - the LE has Extraction on the disc, the standard edition does not. I also had a £24 CeX voucher, so had to spend it on something.

You guys do know that it will take forever to arrive?
#22
Update: my copy arrived today and it was not sealed. It just had a post-it on the back saying "item was sealed when brough in". It looks new. I checked the online code, which has not been redeemed, so I'm happy enough.

Got it new from game for £24.99, yesterday on the phone I was told they didn't have any new but asked store and they had stock in the back(think the guy on the phone just checked the drawers).
it scanned at £27.98 but I showed the guy the box on the shelve saying £24.99 so he reduced it.
#24
Mine just arrived, unsealed and looking like its been booted around the stockroom with a case full of cracks.
Grrr, where's me phone.........
#25

A lot of stores buy them as sealed, but they get put out unsealed so they can have the boxes out on the shop floor :)

So, am I right in thinking that Extraction is on the disc (it's not DLC) but there is a voucher that allows you to play the multiplayer online?
