Got this for Xmas - incredible game, especially at night with the lights out and surround system cranked. Easily the most tense, atmospheric game I've played.

Bargain

great game but wouldnt buy it as once completed, I wouldnt play it again as no multiplayer. I rented it from lovefilm for free.

Brilliant, I've been wanting to play this for awhile, ordered that Kengo Zero game as well for £3.99 despite the shocking reviews it has. I can't resist a cheap game. :(
#11
Ordered thanks OP, I have a Samsung 40" LCD HDTV with a Logic 5.1 Soundstage but I find the sound seems better in 2.1 mode both in films & PS3 games is there anything I'm doing wrong?. 5.1 on my set up isn't so loud or has distintive sounds as 2.1 has.

Anyone know where I may be going wrong?

Cheers!

Excellent game, excellent price - I have justo got to about 2/3 through and can highly receommend :)
#13
Brilliant game i can not recommend highly enough. If you like being scared this is the game for you. The use of sound is a real high point especially if you're using a surround system. One piece of advice for anyone playing, leg shots are the new head shots.
#14
Hot, will try to get it later!!

This game is awesome! I got it before xmas last year. I was surprised at just how good this game is. Truly gripping, immersive and addictive. The use of audio and lighting effects in this game always impresses me. Kind of reminds me of Event Horizon at times. Considering this is now under £20 this should be on every gamers list, you won't regret it

Fantastic game. At under £18, it's a must. Great spot.
#17
excellent game, still need to finish it
#18
Gah! I need to stop looking at this site! I've still got Fable 2, Condemned 2, Overlord and Ninja Gaiden 2 sitting waiting to be started (When I've finished Lost Odyssey) and really shouldn't buy this as well, but it's such a good price.....

Bought one thanks op.

sounds like your speakers mustn't be calibrated properly maybe. this game is infinitely better in 5.1 than 2.1, so something must be amiss. How is the PS3 connected to the speakers?
#21
Great game - about 1/2 way through it at the moment.

It seems to have been overlooked as was released around the same time as Gears2 / Guitar Hero / CoD 5 / Left 4 Dead etc... Well worth £18

As people have said - sound is fantastic - there are a few touches that hint towards films like Aliens too
#22
I still haven't played this, though my brother highly recommends it. Very tempting at this price :)
#23
Just ordered as I had missed out on Fifa 09 yesterday

Heat added

Thanks

Even better for the PC DVD, just £12.99 and free delivery.

Hi there,
I have been looking through the manual but still cant see anything. Anyhow I have an optical cable(OP1) connecting from TV to Logic 5.1. I have just a HDMI cable connecting from PS3 to TV.

When I connect the optical cable from PS3 to Logic 5.1 I get no sound?

I'm not sure what to do, Its a great sound don't get me wrong but there is a mode button on the logic 5.1 remote that when it goes to 5.1 it seems to lose sound and the affects are not so prominent?

Damn you killzone 2 why cant u be delayed so i can buy these games and actually play em :P

Sounds to me like you have the sound running through HDMI to your TV which will only pass a 2.0 stereo signal(to your TV as your TV isn't 5.1) and then you say you have a optical going from your tv to your Logic 5.1. The signal your Locig box is getting is only 2.0 by the sounds of it if I've understood your connection description.

Change your PS3 audio settings to Optical, connect the optical lead from your PS3 straight into your Logic box, by passing the TV altogether, knock the sound down on the TV if you have to have and hopefully sorted.

Hope this helps...:)

Dead Space is superb, one of the first games in ages to really hit me as a "wow thats a next gen game"

Definately worth investing in these credit crunched times in a decent surround sound set, this is the probably the best game out there for utilising sound. The first few minutes will have you changing you Y Fronts and sitting in nappies.

Get the free downloads on Xbox live as well if they're still there, some free Armour suits, things like that.

Highly recomend watching the animation before you play this "Downfall" I think its called, the second the film ends is where the game begins.

But I would check your local Sainsburys first just in case
as in mine Dead Space PS3 was £15 before the VAT Till reduction
£14.67 after 2.5% VAT reduction

See thread here

Well if it's that bad perhaps I won't get it then... :-D

Heard good things about this but know nothig about it, tried to find out a bit more by watching a Youtube video the other night but it didn't show alot just a bloke stood about and something telling him what to do. Any links to a video which depicts it a bit better?

Not that I need yet another game to add to my unplayed collection. :whistling:

Thanks for your reply, much appreciated.
I done everything you mentioned & I thought yes!! as I had not set my PS3 to 5.1 optical mode before. I now have the optical cable from PS3 straight to the soundstage and it still seems a better sound on 2.1 mode.

I'm gonna google this query and look more into it and possibly post a query on a techie forum and get this sorted as some of the games these days are spectacular and I hope to get the best out of what gear I have to play them on.

Cheers!

test it with a Blu-ray film rather than a game as 5.1 should be much better than 2.1/0

BTW, HDMI should pass 5.1 to your tv. Best check your TV output via optical at 5.1 as many do not.

Just picked up from Sainsburys for less than £15, so this deal is cold for me. Now added to the pile of un-opened games. Now just need to source a surround sound set up by the sounds of things!

HDMI will pass all the information it can/is told to. I very much doubt the TV has a pass through mode that will carry through all the 5.1 signal. Although I may be wrong. It sounds as though the TV is just straight down mixing the audio to a standard 2.0. :)
