Region 2

Set in the mid to late summer of 1877, six weeks after the events of the Second Season, the first steps of civilization and law begin to enter the town; as well as the interests of larger, more powerful entities -- in particular Hearst and his mining company. Deadwood preps itself for its first elections as it enters the Dakota territory, with Seth Bullock vs. Harry Manning (sheriff and Sol Star vs. E.B. Farnum (mayor).

Excellent show and a good price if you want a particular season, however if you want all 3 you can pick up the box set from Amazon for £26.98

amazing show... great price

I can't fault these prices, just CDWOW actually supplying them. Don't pay paypal, you never see that refunded.

They might be okay with these. It says they'll despatch within 24 hours while most the others offers posted were 'hurry limited stock'

just bear in mind that deadwood was cancelled so it does not really come to a conclusion.it is still fantastic though
#6
Just the three seasons then? Might watch a bit of this on telly first to see if I like it

How can shows like Deadwood get cancelled when rubbish like Heroes is still being churned out.

Always wanted to watch this but if it has no conclusion will give it a miss.

i started to watch it first time round but did not have time.i got the box set for christmas and watched it,when it finished i was searching for another disc as i did not know it was cancelled.it leaves you wanting more.i think it was something to do with cost why they axed it.

Yep, superb show let down by crap ending due to being cancelled! There was talk of a movie to bring the show to a proper close, however this will never happen now, shame, Ian Mcshane was brilliant!

I wouldn't let that put you off.

It was just plain too expensive for HBO to make. And you could tell it was expensive watching it, absolutely fantastic production values for a tv show. Easily amongst the best I've ever seen.

One of the few seasons that actually got better through the seasons, this had legs to go on for a couple more years.

If got dropped then might fall further in price

It was cancelled mid-2006
The prices haven't fallen much in the last year or so.

a very, very good show. Not a bad episode in there but beware... the level of frustration at the end when you are left hanging with no conclusion is almost too much to take.

Buy this, you won't be disappointed until you are very disappointed when it all ends.

I'm waiting for the Blurays, like with Rome which I just bought and received from CDWOW (Never had a problem with them). This show deserves the HD treatment.

I didn't find the final episode that frustrating. I doubt Deadwood would have had a definite conclusion. That is what made it so good. As much of a menacing hardcase that Swearingen was he knew he couldn't touch the magnates like Hurst. Deadwood is one of few shows I have seen where they would forgo a spectacular (but cliche'd) finale in favour of realism. This is what HBO do best- the good guy doesn't always come out on top.

on Sky3 at 12pm - seems hard to get into

Don't bother watching it on skythree unless you are sky+ing it. Watching episodes a week apart means you lose the plot. Especially in deadwood where there is little plot exposition and also they rarely say each other's names which makes it hard to follow when you are constantly referring to characters as "wotsit" and "him with the grey hair and tache". Plus 00:00 am- 1.20am isn't the greatest time to concentrate on the language (most commonly used word on the camp is "pretext"). Oh and also Sky's generous use of ad breaks which turns a 50 minute show into an hour and 20 minutes (they are on that often that Ross Kemp should get accredited as one of the Deadwood cast, such is the endless reel of his ...in Afghanistan ads).
