I can't recall any swearing from it. Al Swearengen is a most polite well mannered and spoken man in the show.

Brilliant find OP, for the 3 seasons it lasted it was the only one for me that beat The Sopranos (although Sopranos lasted longer and probably still deserves No. 1 spot, only because this was cut at 3 seasons - tradegy). Al Swearengen is my most favourite character of all time.

It uses the authentic wild west vernacular of the time, expect such phrases as-
"Damn and botheration"
"Dang it"
"Rootin' Tootin'"

Perhaps there's worse, but it's not really noticeable.

I was given this for my birthday last year and it was fantastic, pretty much watched it back-to-back,. I am looking forward to when I've sufficiently forgotten it so I can re-watch it all.

Probably the best tv show ever.

But remember it was cancelled at series 3 so there is no real conclusion to the stories.

Ian MacShane is just phenomenal as Al Swearengen, probably the best character ever on the small screen but everyone else in the cast is great too; right down to the most minor character.

Completely agree (well one of the best anyway) and a must buy at this price. IIRC I did read that they had intended to do a few "films" to try and complete the series but nothing seemed to come from that.
An amazing series for sure which was one of several which have been prematurely chopped.
Carnivale was another imo.

Maybe it's something netflix could pick up and have a go with. Although that didn't work so well for AD.

Really? I liked the recent season of Arrested Development. I also liked the recent season of Trailer Park Boys which Netflix did too! Could work but they've largely been concentrating on their own unique series', and rebooting sitcoms because they're usually much lower budget. Still waiting for new Reno 911 from them! But you never know, they could do more Deadwood if people involved wanted to - Milch's next series Luck got cancelled too after just one season.

I didn't enjoy the ones focused on George Michael so much and unfortunately for me that was quite a few of them. Hopefully the series will continue to grow on me - I'm going to wear out my Season 2 DVD if I don't start rationing it!

I think it'll be a grower. Easily the season to rewatch as it has so much going on due to the different formula it plays with.
