No, this comes with a game so net price of approx. £70 for the controller, that's what the deal is. Controller and game.

Are these pads really worth the extra cash? i've never used one but i'm getting tempted at this price
It's a lovely controller and better than anything out there. Imo this is aimed at the borderline pro gamer, the type that goes to or participates in online tournaments on games like COD where the response time really matters. The average gamer playing a casual game of FIFA or COD for an hour a night isn't really getting the true benefit of this controller. This deal makes it not that much more than a normal controller once you've sold the game (depending on the sell on value of the game you choose) so the deal itself is decent.

I've had mine for over a year now and nothing has happened to my controller it works flawlessly. Don't get this if your average Joe play a game for 5 hours a week. It's bigger than standard controllers. I can't use a normal controller now. Well worth the money as I spent much more than this when I bought mine.

Does this work with Win 10 without a USB dongle or is that still required?

No. No Bluetooth so you still need a dongle.

Btw quality on these isn't amazing. Not really worth the premium. Especially for PC gaming the Bluetooth controller is much better value.

You can also plug the USB cable into the PC and use it wired.

I've found that if I want to 'competitively' game then I can't use an elite as I feel like there's a slight delay that isn't there with any of my others. Difference is that I can play on this for hours and hours whereas I only manage 1 or 2 with others

The only problem with this controller is that it's fallen behind without Bluetooth connectivity, as the gen 3 controller of the One S has. Otherwise still the best gaming controller.

Forza horizon worth the most at cex £26 if you're looking to offset the price of the controller

Got one of these the last time it was on offer with the forza 6 1p glitch, selling my old xbox 360 controller, gears 4 and forza 6 the elite worked out to £60 (minus postage and also took advantage of the eBay 75% off final value fees 4 month thing) to play PC games on Steam. However since I put PS4 Remote Play on my laptop (a lifesaver, no more waiting for the TV to be free in my household) and the PS4 controller Steam support, I find I use the PS4 controller far more than the Elite, so am now waiting to receive a eBay final value fee reduction offer to sell it on like new.

£18 if you want cash and not the CEX voucher :) It is still the best game to buy if you want the cash option though!

Purely psychological, latency on controllers is imperceptible.

I know it should be! If I play wired it seems to go away though... I'm gonna put it in for service as I'm sure it's not right.

Much better than the standard controllers, Imo they have cheapened the standard ones from previous xbox generations as have always found them good apart from on Xbone. Probably to push people into buying these. That said I am pleased with mine got in January same deal.

Do these work on PC's then?

Knowing Argos they will have a £10 Quidco bonus tomorrow after people buy these up like at Christmas.
If you're not planning on modifying these and will be using it very heavily the extended 2 year warranty would be a wise investment.
These can get stick drift and stubborn B button just like the standard ones because underneath it those parts are identical and interchangeable between elite and regular.
To fix stick drift you would need to buy a new module, solder old one off and solder new one on, which doesn't always fix it anyway so having that warranty would be like gold!

If you have an old controller, like the thumbsticks and dpad from the elite but not fussed about the paddles then you can upgrade with elite parts.

What other comparable controllers have you used? Can you share any additional insight as to how they compare and why the MS Elite is better?
Razer Wildcat
Razer Serval
PowerA Fusion Pro
Evil Controller
SCUF Infinity 1
Others....

It's a shame they don't sell the elite bundles anymore, I bought one back in November for £210 with a game. Sold the game for £20 and the Elite Xbox One for £170. Making it £20 for an Elite Controller (_;)

Best controller I've ever had, the build quality is fantastic although I don't even use the paddles which defeats a big point of buying one in the first place.
