Make way for Noddy! (Noddy!)
Toytown can't be far!
I have this car and the price seems reasonable -paid about the same with the so called scrappage discount of £2000 taken off, but be warned the car is very basic- no electic windows or central locking and the most annoying "safety" feature of no key lock on the passenger door. NOT recommended for anyone who prefers to put children, elderly relatives or shopping in from the pavement before walking in the road to unlock drivers door. I think Ford designers are seriously out of touch with their client base. I just presumed that 3 door cars had 3 locks and was very dissappointed not to mention irittated on a daily basis grr
Horrible cars. 13" wheels? Gonna be rough as hell on british roads. Save your money and buy a propper car

ford over fiat anyday-had three fords, two fiestas and now a ka-fab little car ! FIAT= fix it again tomorrow!

The Ford Ka is made by Fiat and is based on the 500 which is based on the Panda. All 3 made by Fiat in Poland and all good cars. The Panda is likely to be the best value.

Surprised at the amount of negativity towards vw and even BMW. Thought they had great reputations?
Not now - reliability used to be first rate, but that was a very long time ago. Which? now shows them as mainly below average for reliability. That's borne out by my own experiences, too.VW was an excellent brand for reliability. Now it's just living on its past reputation, backed up by clever advertising which prolongs the myth.
I have had 3 Passat's in the past 11 years, did over 100K in each of them with NO problems whatsoever.
I now have a Golf Bluemotion Technology 1.6 TDi and it is a great car. Considering the OTR price for this is over 21K, less than 12K for this model seems a great price.

Personally I would always have a VAG model (Audi, VW, Seat & Skoda), the residual value would stop me looking at a Ford (as well as the build quality, looks etc..)
I had a previous model Golf SDI for 10 years that was only 68bhp and was a fine car a pleasure to drive on the motorway or in town. I had to drive an almost new rental Vauxhall Corsa recently and I'd have swapped it for my 10 year old golf any day.

I must say I was mighty impressed with the new Ford Fiesta. Feels like a big solid car and nice interior design/materials. Also the Volvo C30 R-Design was lovely and I think I would rather have that.
good points: great price , good reliability , good image, good residuals

bad points: golf 1.4 are really underpowered and you will feel it if you have any passengers, the suspension is so soft on all (non gti)golfs seems like they bottom out on road humps or uneven roads(not a problem on focus/astra)
this is the entry level golf listed as 13k on the road(+600 for 5door)

my opinion has changed : the new focus and new fiesta really impressed, vw's disappointing
