All 9 discs in the series. The next best I could find is Tesco Entertainment (£38.47). Region 0 knock-offs normally go for around £25.

Light Yagami is an ace student with great prospects, who's bored out of his mind. One day he finds the "Death Note": a notebook from the realm of the Death Gods, with the power to kill people in any way he desires. With the Death Note in hand, Light decides to create his perfect world, without crime or criminals. However, when criminals start dropping dead one by one, the authorites send the legendary detective L to track down the killer, and a battle of wits, deception and logic ensues...
For the first time ever, all 37 episodes of the epic Death Note series are collected in one deluxe 9 disc box set featuring the original Japanese artwork.

Cue fanboys in 3,2,1...

It's one of the most overhyped pieces of anime over recent years. Decent but by no means epic

I'd say it's one of the best, if not the best, anime series I have ever seen, and I have seen near a hundred. Personally I think it's a brilliant series, and one of the very few series that is actually worth buying. Usually I find anime to be wayyyy to expensive, charging over 15 quid for just 3 episodes, but this price is well worth it for a series of this quality.

Good price. I wanna see what all the hype is about with this one. I've seen hundreds of different anime titles/series over the years so would be interesting to see how death note compares. Is it more than a load of moody bishojou teens running around using magical powers to fight off demons?
#5
Wow amazing price!

I do not know how to describe Death Note other than it is bloody awesome, nothing else needs to be said!

I have not watched anywere near 100 animes but I loved this so much! Everything seems well put together too, story, characters, everything.

I definately recommend you to buy it if you do not have it!

Seems a great price, just watched the movies so will prob pick this up too. Can anyone recommend any other movies / anime that's of similar taste?

Great deal. I knew the cynics would emerge. It's not the best anime series but it's still very good in my opinion and is well worth watching. Not as good near to the end but overall I loved it. For this price? Buy!
#12
Plus it has the benefit of being only 37 episodes. I want to watch other anime shows but don't want/haven't got the time to watch several hundred episodes.
#13
Been meaning to give this a try for a while now. Seems like a good price for the complete set.
#14
Stupidly good price for a good series. Anime is highly rated and deserves to be. Only suffers from some slowdown due to filler being put into the anime whilst the manga was being written
#15
Good price, half decent series that knows when it should end. Hot

Just because you personally do not like something does not mean its not good..

i enjoy a few animes but never really got into many of the hardcore ones- deathnote is one of the lighter ones that recieves a lot of attention and justly does

As already mentioned it is only 37 episodes long but this means it prevents fillers and keeps focused on the story...it is well worth £30

I have not watched the films but i have skimmed through them and they pale in comparision from the series in my opinion (hence why i have not got round to watching them) because they are live actors but the voices from anime are kept- its like summing up the entire series in 2 films

Does anyone know if this is subbed or dubbed?

Usually it's both and on the website it says:

Main Language:

* Japanese

Dubbing Languages:

* English

Subtitle Languages:

*English

so yeah i'd guess at you get the choice of how you want to watch it :)

This looks interesting. Will see if I can find the first episode on TVshack and if it's good, I'll buy this.

Heat added.

Really good price because usually anime dvds are something ridiculous like £20. Personally I couldn't stand Death Note because the 'hero' is so unlikable.
#21
I personally would like to see it a fiver cheaper, but thats prob just me being picky as i have seen the whole series, a few times, and would just be paying again for another collection.

I agree that its a great series, apart from as someone stated previously, with a few fillers in the middle, i think around 17 onwards, for about 8-10 eps get slightly boring (imo) in contrast to the excitment of the eps before or after...

Saying that, still love the series, a great price for newcomers, or collectors alike.

All they need is this in Blu Ray now.

I didnt say it had no fillers i said it prevented fillers :D- as in too many of them...pretty much every program that lasts more than 10 episodes has at least 1 filler...

and yes it should have dubbed and subbed, which is why i dont mind buying anime for a slightly higher price cause i can watch in either to see what the original japenese story was and how its changed in english
