Just been trawling through the site on the blue X items, some great clothes on offer... Mostly out of stock, especially the Extra large item's so be warned... the booze and sweets over hols have obviously taken there toll !!

Whats happened to Debenhams? They used to have some decent designer mens gear, now it all seems to be tailored to the older generation with there own exclusive labels: Maine, Jeff Banks, Thomas Nash etc etc.

thanks for this got my mam a l'occitane gift set for her birthday! heat and rep added x

Cannot get the code ' SHA1' to work anymore for free delivery!
Think they may have cottoned on and stopped the use of this code.
#6
omg £4.50 just for delivery?! pricey if you just want to buy something for a few quid
#7
not much for me but there is some bargains to be had hope some of you get some of them :)

I can't get on to the Debenhams website and haven't been able to for several days. Thought it might be firefox so tried explorer too. No luck. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

NO FREE DELIVERY.
Personally I would avoid til they get a new code.... they have cancelled half of the bargains I have ordered as they were 'out of stock'. Not worth the risk of paying a whopping 4.50 for low value items!!!!!
#10
The 5% off code still works...I just got a Dress for 33.00 that should of cost 110.00!
Let's hope it is actually in stock

PCBP = 5% Off :)

I would say beware of ordering on line if under £100 and without a vredit card

I ordered a quilt it was cancelled, called them they said out of stock but wernt., they had since gone up!!! told problems with web

Anyway got through to head office lady said she couldnt understand why out of stock said she would order at that price, price has nearly doubled now.

Debenhams online is different to debenhams store, customer service terrible

Have decided not to place a order on line as its under a £100, plus heard from a good source that Debenhams is touch and go whether its going to make it through,

I would say if ordering on line make sure its with credit card if not go to the shop.

got my eye on a few tings but think I will wait for free del code at least.

And what "good source" is this?

`SHA1` doesnt work for free delivery any longer, but if you pay by goldcard you can phone up customer services and get them to refund the postage. The 5% code still works PCBP. I bought a Radley tote for £81, and a King Size goose feather duvet for £33! And remember to go through Quidco.
Just hope they arrive!

We bought my kids beds in the sale a couple of years ago. They charged us full price & wouldn't refund the difference until beds had been delivered several weeks later. I kicked up such a fuss that they were holding on to money I hadn't authorised & couldn't/wouldn't refund immediately (not spotted until the invoice came as the amount I authorised was the discounted amount) that they ended up giving me double discount. I got the kids beds for £125 each which was cheaper than the rubbish I had bought them up to that point and both cheaper than one would have originally have been.

I placed 4 different orders. Received one cancellation, no info about other 3. I have written an email seeking status of other 3, no response yet. I simply do not understand "Why they let a transaction completed online if they cannot honour it later"

I've had similar problems to gazzer666.

I ordered a coat and a tie last weeks from the Debenhams website, which was £85 in total, and I used the 20% off discount voucher that was still valid - so the amount I should have been charged (and my confirmation order confirms this) was £68. However, I checked my credit card statement yesterday and Debenhams have actually charged me £120 - which I think is the current price of the coat and tie (not the sale price when I bought them!).

I'm pretty peeved that Debenhams have done this and I've had to call them to sort it out, although they are investigating it at their end and will contact me in the next few days. I won't be buying from Debenhams online again!
#21
They've cancelled part of my order before- didn't bother telling me, items just didn't turn up!
I've taken a chance though, because I really wanted something. Do they send cancellation emails on a Sunday?

I heard this too..something bout their debt structure..

But with the rumour mill flying at the min i take it with a pinch of salt for now..

Although i do know that they have made a bad choice in opening a new store in ballymena as it has bombed and is doing very badly
#23
Maybe buying Allders wasn't a good idea?
#24
If you get a sale item with extra discount code applied they cancel order. I order a knife set before Christmas that were in the sale, used a free delivery and 20% off code and they cancelled order... seems a bit fishy to me. I could put through exactly the same order last week. Lets see what happens this time!
#25
I placed an order with Debenhams 2 days ago, then received a cancellation yesterday - " On this occasion we have been unable to process the following items on your order".
Went back online to select item again said " out of stock " then last night the item was " In stock ". Tried to buy item again then was informed I wasn't able to buy it, click " refresh" then said " out of stock"
That was the first and last time I will order online with them. Voted cold!
#26
I placed an order last Monday and used the 20% off and free delivery - got e-mailed confirmation couple of days ago to say it was despatched. Also checked my on-line banking and they have charged me the correct amount so no problems on this occasion!
#27
Unfortunately had the same problem with my order. The order went through smoothly. I then got an e-mail that part of my order is cancelled and I won't be charged for it. What I am now wondering is whether they will charge me postage as with the cancellation of part of the order, the amount of shopping I did is below £100 [free P&P for £100 and above].
I seriously wonder whether they have a problem on their website.
Regards,
Saabu.

I usually get a few good bargains instore in their post-xmas sale. Went in this year and found nothing worth buying. prices were the same as pre-xmas when they reduced them. They've obviously twigged that the masses will flock in as soon as the turkey's cold and buy anything so by not taking any more off they can recoup some of their losses. I'm betting in a couple of weeks once 'sale fever' has died off a little that there will actually be some bargains in the high street again.
#29
Debenhams should change its name to Blue Cross.
#30
Placed a large order in the last sale, out of 27 items they delivered 1 ??? There was free delivery on orders over £100,my order was over this but they charged me delivery because all but one thing was out of stock ! They also charged me for some of the items that hadnt turned up,when they refunded me it was it drips and drabs not one refund for the order but for individual items !
When I called customer service they said each item is processed individualy because they can come from different warehouses !!!
Not worth the hassle,be aware !!!!
#31
Went instore on the first day of the blue cross and have to say it's probably their worst sale so far...so much for the credit crunch!

And what "good source" is this?

The source was from my relative who is a top line manager for a leading dept store, he knows of other line managers who work at debenhams, apparently they have been suffering for a while.

But also it was on sky news i think where staff were forced to pushed sales.

Thats why they had the 20% days off before xmas just have to look at the share prices.

i would just say if ordering on line pay by credit card, mine you you will then have to spend over a £100 then

yes its mad blackjack, we had the same. our daughter spent ages looking at the coats and ordering a nice one, I ordered luggage. I got an update about the luggage but not the coat, but then five days later got a cancellation invoice for the coat. Still no luggage yet either.
Very disappointing as an order I placed before Christmas was mostly OK apart from a pair of swim shorts not in stock. BE CAREFUL because they charged me for these swim shorts and I had to call for a refund as they had been charged on my card, hopefully the refund is on by now.

Sounds like Debenhams cannot be trusted with their website - so many of us have had various problems it's unbelievable. I certainly won't be shopping online with them again. I just hope they sort out my refund soon.:x
#35
I'm fuming. Debenhams have now taken another £8 from my credit card for no reason whatsoever. I simply cannot believe it. I'll be writing an email and letter to them shortly (copying in Watchdog) - not only have they overcharged me £52 on my actual purchase but now they are dipping into my credit card as if it's their petty cash. Disgraceful.
#36
Debenhams have just cancelled my whole order- two pairs of trousers and a ready bed. I won't bother again!
