own brand, and only 8 people reviewed it on main site, with only 5 people giving it top marks.

I am looking for a good pair of boots but these are not it.

Don't let the fact that they are own brand put you off - Decathlon's own brand stuff is excellent quality. We've had numerous pairs of walking boots from there (albeit the cheaper versions for the kids) and they have been absolutely brilliant - well worth the money.

how many long distance walks have the kids been on?

Strange Company! They used to re- badge Laguna boots which were good. This latest range is cheaper and without Vibram soles.

I have walked round the living room twice and give them top marks. Next challenge will be the garden

I got a pair of these earlier on on the year and I have to say they are fantastic and are lasting really well. On average I have to buy a set of walking boots every year as I do so many miles with my dog and am sick of paying high prices for items that wear out or break in 5 minutes.... (so far I have had two pairs of Salamon (very comfortable), berghaus (meh), and merrell (utter crap) and lowa (okay but wore out quickly) ) I paid £75 for a pair of them and haven't regretted it yet.

They've been used on many Guide and Scout camps, and on a couple of long hikes as well. Never had a problem with quality at all.
