Thought this one might be relevant given the current Swine Flue outbreak thats been hogging the headlines of late. One of the reccomendations is that you clean your hands regularly with some ant bacterial agent. My wife who tends to panic a bit bought some Anti-Bacterial Gel online (2x 100ml) for about £9 + P&P. I spotted these in Poundland on Saturday. You get 4 x 60 ml bottles in a pack for a quid. Seems like good vallue to me.

Bought some of these before much cheaper than Carex, last time they also had the big anti bacterial gel but haven't got any stock at the moment.
Four for a £1 is a good deal for these travel size ones, voted hot.

Definitely worth a quid

indeed, it always amazes me how people at work say they caught a flu or sickness bug and they don't know how. I do. You eat your lunch with your hands and they haven't been washed all day. DUR.

Good deal. But anti-bacterial gel to fight a virus?
#5
you mostly pick up the illnesses through bacteria on your hands etc

Yeh my office has just put anti-bacterial soap in all the bathrooms as a Swine Flu measure, but I doubt it kills viruses! Don't hospitals use some form of alcohol based gel instead ?

my work takes me into some really grotty houses, i got some from the asda £1 section but this deal is even better.

I am no expert, but I have worked in places where the other workers put their sandwiches on others desks... yes direct on the desk. Also seen many of them go into the loo, wee and back out, no hand washing, just so so quickly. Then they offer to make you a cuppa.

Well, desks at work are supposedly more germ ridden than a toilet seat. So cleaning your desk and keyboard regularly is a good idea. Anti-bacterial washing of hands is good, also the gel alcohol or spray to rub in when it is not convenient to go wash your hands before eating is good too.

Another tip, don't go rubbing your eyes!

alcohol is used when soap and water isn't readily available. Soap and warm / hot water is the preffered cleansing means and alchol doesn't clean the hands of dirt etc, just bacteria.

I work with guys that dont wash their hands after using the toileet - then keep their fingers in their mouths all day! Then they eat with the same hands! Some even take a newspaper & their sandwiches into the loos!

I carry these things around with me 24/7.

I am surrounded by filthy people with filthier habits!

peoples immune systems arent worth a jot nowadays because everything is beached to within an inch of its life, children arent exposed to any germs and dont build up any tollerance.

say no to personal hygiene, you wont smell it coz everybody will stink

If you do use this for travel purposes on flights, just be warned that the lid is not as secure as say a Tesco's solution. It invariably opens on flights due to the pressure. Still good value but not too nice when its coated the inside of your bag.
